Lets get summat straight here guys.

Darren moore is not a great player. He played hell of a lot last season, in the defence of a team who are now labelled as the worst ever prem team. Jewell is having a clear out of his dross, his words, so he can rebuild.

I remember him from his Bradford days, hope he's improved and proves me wrong. doubt it though.

i am very suprised that you didn't like him in his Bradford, west brom and pompey days, all 3 clubs loved him, and someone who for last ten years or so has been right up there with best centre halfs in this league, he was outstanding with Derby season they got promoted, and probably would have been last season had they still been in championship.

Problem with Derby last season probably 80% of the team were poor, including the whole back four and keeper.
You don't become a bad player overnight and season they got promoted he was performing week in / week out. He also got rave reviews at all previous clubs.

Don't get me wrong he isn't the quickest player but he brings something different to what we have already got. Will come in very useful against the likes of Watford!

    best of a bad bunch!

Okay lets face it last season Derby were a very very very very poor side, however, you cannot claim that all of the players as individuals are rubbish and aren't good enough for the Championship. I'd have been happy if we had signed any number of their players from last year e.g. Kenny Miller, Rob Earnshaw, Giles Barnes, David Jones, Tyrone Mears, Alan Stubbs, Stephen Pearson, Robbie Savage to name just a few....... But instead we have signed their player of the year Darren Moore! A big, powerful, experienced and infulential centre half. Isn't that the type of player we have been lacking for some time, some one with experience and presence?

Davey's comments suggest he will be an important squad player (not starting every game) and will play a big part both on and off the field. He has captined nearly every club he has played for and I feel will be a great assett to the club. Hume was also Leicesters player of the year, and one thing we need more of is characters and influential players. Plus both players we also fans favourites!!!!

Bring on the new season I say...... with this squad I feel we should make top half finish, hopefully if we stay injury free we can then push on.

PS - Blades have made some good signings and will do well this year, but its a little quiet down at Hillsborough & at the Keepmoat..... do you think the fowls are preparing for another relegation battle? No money, no takeover yet complete oh dear, oh dear, oh dear......

Bradford fans aren't too impressed at his behaviour over this move though. Looked like he was going back there but kept them waiting so long that they signed Graeme Lee instead (a few of the fans are saying Lee will be better than Moore would have been!).

Cant understand the negativity around his signing. He is exactly what we need and have needed for years, big, strong, experienced and committed. Surely having a player like him around the team can do nothing but good. Defending a lead last year meant putting a full back into the middle and bringing another full back on, this year we have the option of bringing a ball winning centre half on to help sure things up.

top top signing in my opinion.

why are people so negative to Darren Moore??

What did everyone say we wanted at numerous stages last season

A BIG STRONG EXPERIENCED CENTRE HALF!!!!!

Davey signs one.... whats the problem?

not only that he signs one of the best championship defenders of the last decade!!!!!!!!!! (yes thats my opinion - name me any other thats won promotion 4 times from this league)

Yes he may be knockin on a bit at 34.... but so is Sol Campbel... (I am not comparin skill just age)

He will bring lots and lots of much needed defending experience... he will sure up our defence when we play big strong sides - eg burnley

I AM SO POSITIVE ABOUT NEXT SEASON..... BRING IT ON

Darren Moore has 4 promotions to the Prem under his belt

Frenchie has 2 relegations from the Swiss league under his belt.

People don't have confidence in Bruno but expectFrenchie to be a worldbeater! I wonder what some people have brains for when they a quite clearly incapable of making them work.

Last season we were crying out for a goal scorer, and a big experienced centre half. Davey has secured the services of Hume (who will bang 15 in) and Moore (who has been there and done it at every Championship club he's been at).

    Hats off to Davey.

    Enough said.
