Why are some people still criticising this guy?

It seems that everytime he kicks the ball, he gets jeered. Why? I for one, believe Moore to be a very, very good defender. Ok, he's not a footballing centre half, but the guy is a brilliant stopper - and he's fantastic in the air.

He's not the quickest, but he's never been quick in his life - but he's always been comitted to the cause wherever he has played and always been in the thick of the action. Some of his play yesterday, whilst not being easy on the eye was excellent, and I think he should be applauded for that. The same against Southampton too.

I believe a large majority of the Barnsley section (especially in the Ponty end) are too critical over him, when in fact, he's been one of our most consistent performers this season, in a pretty decent defense.

    Come on, get behind em.

i agree with everything you say. Chris Morgan isnt blessed with pace and hoofed everything in the air but wasnt we barnsley fans crying for him to come back when utd were in the premier? Moore and souza looked immense at times yesterday and with muller behing them i feel more and more comfortable about our defence now.

Moore is playing really well for me and has been since a shaky couple of moments after the first few games! He reads the game really well & bullys people. I play centre half a bit for my team, (and ok it's not the championship, but it's my level of football) and I am by no means quick, but I am playing really well because I can read the game well & can time a tackle/position myself well!

thought our back five were immense yesterday.

Sibierski coming out of the premiership and patterson who scored a lot of goals fors scunny, and neither got a sniff from moore and souza.

defensively we look as secure as we have in years.

Darren Moore has improved the last 3 games

In the early days I must admit, we had made a bad signing. He was off pace and still is a bit, but, he does add some strength and in the air command to the back 4.

Can you imagine what would have happened if Moore had made the wayward backpass that Foster did. All hell would have broke loose. As it was not a murmur because it was Foster.

Yeah, what was foster doing there! yesterday was forst game ive been to this season due to cricket commitments like but i thaught we played really well. From reading stuff on here i thaught we would be completly devoid of confidence and tempo but none of that. I wouldent say we are relegation material on that evidence anyway. Thaught darren moore was very assured, the defense looks improved from last season.

I stand by my early season prediction that Darren Moore will be a cult hero by May.

In recent games apart from one mistake against Cardiff he's been solid.
Can't fault anyone in defence at present

hes a good solid defender whos strong and good in the air. yeah he may be slow but it doesnt concern me. our defence is good especially with muller. its going forward what worries me and the fact we dont have a proven goalscorer.
