    5 huge explosions coupled with a power cut at 5.00am - what was it all about then?

    Some people talking about a power surge.

    I heard electrical bleeping noises at 5 to 5 and got up to investigate but couldn't find the cause. It may have been next door's alarm reacting to a cut - but the radio alarm was still showing the time, and if we'd had a power cut, however short, it would have been flashing.

    Power was off for 2 hours down Darton Lane, and I counted 5 explosions that sounded more like bombs than fireworks. Scared me shitless. I noticed the power was still on over Darton.

    I heard a beeping noise from outside at about 5.15am, shut the window and went back to sleep!
    I'm in town though and nowhere near Mapp!
