    Good point, well made. If he's signed as a winger, highly possible he'll start at centre half, with Cranes demoted to toast duty.

    Sad indictment of our academy that the club has had to sign so many players for the Under 21 team simply because the academy has produced so few capable with the quality to go on from the Under 18 team.

    'm sorry but once again thats not true.

    The vast majority of the teams been made up of players within the system from the u18's who have pro contracts or still u18 players.

    It's players Barnsley have signed to go into the u18's or 21's that haven't played much like McKnight, Knight Joyce Boland (is he still even at the club) Salt (is he even also with the club.)

    And once again having ago at that system.

    BTW EVERY club will bring in a few players for the u21 development squad is, doesn't matter how good your u18's are. In this country all the local teams do it and even the massive clus like Manchester united arsenal liverpool chelsea Tottenham.... do it to the international massive academys like Barcelona Real madrid.

    Take Rodri for example, released by another club so Barcelona took a look and put him in their development side. So does that make Barcelona Academy not good enough so they have to get players from the outside....
