    I'm hearing certain people saying that Dave Bassett called Barnsley fans "fickle". He's probably right (as as most football fans). However, I'd like to see it myself. Anyone got a link to an interview, or even a YouTube club? I presume he said it when he was our manager?

    I could be wrong but I think it was an interview in the Chronicle when he also accused us of being inane.

    Almost got us into the Prem and he did it by playing decent football not the lump it forward style of Wimbledon/Blunts.

    And he was right, fans are fickle, however, Barnsley fans are no more fickle than others.

    I quite liked Mr Bassett. Not enough to call him "Harry" ... He's still a Dave, but I thought he was OK

    Should never have got the job. Some interesting transfer deals during his time at BFC.

    He replaced Arjan de Zeeuw with dross like Chettle, Tuttle and to use his official name Keith ******* Brown

    My other favourite is wanting to sell Higgy...

    Fans of all clubs can be fickle, you only have to read oppositions message boards and listen to phone in.

    It's human nature for some people to flap and others to stay calm, and also you have to take into consideration that some of the people making the bi polar posts and phone calls are still very young with much to experience.

    It's OK for a football manager to roundly label all a clubs fans fickle, based on a the noisy minority, but only if we can label all football managers overpaid failures that always end up getting sacked.

    Neither is completely true, but if people want to generalise. . . .

    I thought it was Geoff Thomas that called us fickle? I seem to remember him coming off the bench away at Crewe and getting an ironic reception.....
