So he returned yesterday to collect his belongings? Well on Radio Sheffield saturday night Kozluk said they weren't in until monday (so how could they be in on sunday?) and Rowing said Davey was filing up his car with his belongings then.

its sad but maybe he can now take a long hard look at his team selections

and see how he contributed to his own downfall.

Also sticking with non performing players for far too long.

What doesnt kill you makes you stronger simon. Onwards and upwards. Take a break, spend some time with family and then get back at it with a new team.

And Hassell.... you lot have obviously have had it too soft for the last 3 years! No wonder you bottle it week in week out. What you all need is a good kick up the arse and understand what it means to play for our club. I understand what you mean by having encouragement but at the end of the day you have all underperformed for far too long. You are all obviously taking the piss with the softly softly approach.

Feel sorry for Davey in some ways, but its him who bought the squad, picked the team & motivated the lads every week!!!

The job obviously meant a lot to davey, & there is no doubting his commitment 2 the club, but results will always make or break you!!

Think Hassell needs to accept the players have let the 'gaffer' down, not the fans!!!

We've had 3 years of him trying to improve our squad!!!

No body likes the day after a manager has gone, but who is bobby or anyone else to say who type of manager the club should get!!!

His opinions count... but it seems so many of our players do not do enough on saturdays!!!

We need sum1 with standards & someone who will not settle for medeocracy!!! (if thats how u spell it)!!!

    Incitful article tho...

'whoever comnes in has to put their arm around the players', ' we dont want a sergeant major type'!!!!!!!!! FFS what a big girl; 'please dont shout at us for feking everything up this season!!'

these players who get paid good money need more than fekin shoutin at, what shall we do for you Bobby? bring spackman back and you can listen to whale music before the game too???????

they ALL need a good kicking and need to start to perform better, its about time some feker shouted at 'em!!!!!!!

What a bunch of pussies. It's no wonder we're bottom of the league.

Bobby Hassell time to leave as well.

You've had a good run at the club and you did well last year - but Bobby Hassell - see you later.

Reading that kind of rubbish makes my blood boil. What a bloody wimp.

    1) He needs a kick up the backside. 'Need a manager to put his arms around us' - what garbage. You're bottom of the league, and particulary the defence is *****. The whole team is under performing and it sounds like they are bloody wallowing in it.
    2) Davey's tactics were crap. Sorry Simon Davey - you just weren't up to it tactically - you had no idea. Rather Simon Davey was a 'broken man' than Barnsley F.C. was a broken club.
    3) If Bobby Hassell hasn't got more fight in him than that - to focus on the job, and pull his bloody socks up, he's not right for the task in hand. Sounds dangerously like he's nailing his colours to the wrong mast to me - not having enough resources? He seems to have had plenty of resources to me. Pathetic sentimental apologist.

They're all earning hundreds of thousands of pounds in that dressing room - small fortunes - and he is damn right about one thing THE PLAYERS LET DAVEY DOWN. More importantly though, THE PLAYERS LET THE CLUB DOWN, THE FANS DOWN, and they haven't been worthy of wearing the red shirt. PARTICULARLY THE DEFENCE.

I'd rather hear Rob Kozluk giving himself a kick up the backside than the moaning whinging rubbish that has been reported to come from Bobby Hassell. I'm so dissapointed with that. Wholesale changes needed in the defence. Bobby Hassell, if it becomes an option, with that kind of mentality, I'd throw you out of the football club and you can follow Davey like a little lamb wherever he may take you. This is not the time to be asking for pity.

Absolutely spot on, my sentiments exactly. Can you imagine him uttering those words to Norman Hunter, Kenny Burns etc. They'd have eaten him alive. Total wuss or what. (2gay)

agreed - the worrying thing though is this...

If they are all of this mentality then no matter who comes in they will vote with their performances. In doing so and the team capitulate, they will have to be moved on = wholesale changes = allmighty fuuuck up. Whoever comes on is going to have a massive job on with the existing playing staff - no matter how talented they are. They will have to be a people person with brilliant man management skills to 'fix' their current psychology.

Thanks for letting us know Bobby!

    You're right mate

...and it might mean that one or two particularly bad cases have to be shown the door to save what is left of the others. What a bloody sad state of affairs. They sound like a right bunch of bloody children. It makes me so angry to hear that - there's no surprise we've been in trouble for so long if they're like that. They want to learn how to put a shift in.

Let's hope we employ "a sergeant major type"

I'm bored of hearing that "the players let Davey down". If that's the case then they all need a kicking.
