Apologies if W1ndassed: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/b/barnsley/8007866.stm Chairman still backing me - Davey Davey's side are in a relegation scrap Barnsley manager Simon Davey says he still has the support of the club's chairman Patrick Cryne. The Reds remain just out of the Championship relegation zone after Norwich lost 3-2 to Ipswich on Sunday. Davey told BBC Radio Sheffield: I've had no internal pressure whatsoever, it's not changed in the past week. "I have a fantastic relationship with Patrick and it always will be and if the inevitable does come then we'll shake hands." Barnsley eased fears of the drop with a goalless draw at promotion-chasing Reading on Saturday. But Davey said: "As a manager you're always fearful of you're job, you always know you're a few games from the sack."
Even the BBC have given up on the English language now. But Davey said: "As a manager you're always fearful <font color="#ff0000">of</font> <font color="#ff0000">you're</font> job, you always know you're a few games from the sack." </p> Where do they find these people?</p>

and if the inevitable does come then we'll shake hands Can anyone tell me what Davey actually means with this comment?
What's 'inevitable' that they are shaking hands on? .... ......... Our relegation? Our survival? His sacking? A combination of these? It's a very odd thing to say And another thing, WHY has he still got Cryne's backing when he has failed the objectives that Cryne set him at the start of the season? That's if he has of course, Cryne not saying much lately
RE: What's 'inevitable' that they are shaking hands on? .... He's just probably as good at English as he is at tactics.
I took it as being an ironic nod towards the fact that eventually, almost all managers get the boot. It's just a matter of when.
The "inevitability" was obvious to me in that eventually, all managers move on, or are moved on. When it happens, he and Cryne will shake hands and there will be no bad feeling. Thats certainly how I saw it.
Four words in. "Barnsley Football Club <font color="#ff0000">are</font><font color="#000000"> offering....."</font></p> Jesus Christ on a Raleigh Chopper.</p>
would take the decision professionally and not be bitter he has learnt his trade at BFC (and at our cost) so he has a lot to be thankful for. If we did go down i doubt id want to shake his hand if i were patrick.
RE: What's 'inevitable' that they are shaking hands on? .... as a posted a couple of weeks ago, shake hands at the end of the season and say thanks but not thanks simon, He knows that he is a dead man walking
RE: What's 'inevitable' that they are shaking hands on? .... there's a special providence in the fall of a sparrow. If it be now, 'tis not to come; if it be not to come, it will be now; if it be not now, yet it will come: the readiness is all
