Exactly, but its even more disappointing now its all in the open

Maybe we should put Polyanna in the recruitment pack?

Funny, that's exactly how I feel too.

For the club to come out and admit the extent of their interest makes the sense of 'losing out' all the more intense.

Simply hearing he had signed for Birmingham would not be so bad, as we could always reassure ourselves that maybe we had never even expressed an interest.

Ho hum. At least with that sort of ambition they'll maybe sign someone else of a decent profile.

Well gutted about KP though, would've been the highest profile and possibly best signing ever.

    Nice to see the ambition.

We're obviously growing as a club again, the fact someone of his calibre even considered an offer from us is massive credit to everyone at BFC.

I'm sure there'll be massive signings in the future...maybe even this summer. Who knows eh? Still...very exciting time to be a fan I think!

I wonder who Plan B is?

    Riodan?
    Stead?
    Eastwood?
    Connelly?
    Eto'o?

the club had ambition to get back to the premier league after the relegation in 98, but then john hendrie was hired as manager. that did not have absolutly no manager experience

Hmm perhaps not. I spose time will tell. No doubt plan B will be a more long term option. KP would've been a fantastic signing, but expensive for just 2 seasons.

I have faith in Davey still...the bar has certainly been raised in terms of who we're now looking at, and that's great to see.

    Let's see

Kevin Phillips won't be able to continue playing like he has forever. Age will catch up with him, that is an absolute certainty. Maybe that will be this year.

I'd take an ageing Kevin Phillips over anyone else we could realistically recruit

The feelgood factor alone, and dare I say it Box Office attraction, would have been massive for our club.

We do need someone tho and sharpish.

I can't be arsed to check, but how old is he?

You're right though, even at championship level, his age will catch up with him.

Still, I'd have loved to have seen him even if it was just for 1 decent season
