Just listened to his post match interview. I think he sounds very defensive and doesnt seem the kind to ever admit he got it wrong. Similarities to a Mr Paul Hart in evidence?
He's more of a Nigel Spackman to me - qualifications coming out of his arse but not a good manager. In fact, I'm sure that having so many qualifications can be a negative because, like Spackers, he could have the 'I know I'm right 'cos I've got qualifications you know' syndrome.
I'm trying not to think about it He sounds like of those that thinks football is played on a chalkboard. This afternoon, Paul Hayes looked like he had no idea what e had been asked to do. Was he supposed be up the pitch with Nardiello? Coulson certain WAS when he came on and it made a difference. Bearing in mind PNE needed a scruffy header from a corner to win the game, I'm disappointed to lose (whatever anyone says about the performance).
Scruffy header from a corner that they should have never had. Colgan should have come for the first cross and then again from the corner. Overall one of the worst performances from a Barnsley side I have seen in a long long time apart from an glint of hope from some.
Nigel Spackman & Paul Hart all over again... "I can't be wrong - I've got coaching qualifications and I'm 'highly regarded'. Must be the league is wrong. Football is wrong. I'm right."</p> League one here we come. </p> </p>
The essence of my point was that despite the fact the Barnsley was so terrible and PNE so wonderful, they still couldn't score from "open play". Welcome to the board.
