I think our biggest potential concern this summer is that David Moyes doesn't try and tempt Davey to be his assistant manager at Everton - he hasnt appointed one since Irvine left for PNE - obviously waiting to finalise his own contract extension first. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/e/everton/7398245.stm Hopefully Davey's keen to build on what he's achieved with us so far & mount a push for a play off place next season - and so would say no to Everton. As many of you have already said - two or three more quality players (plus De Silva and Muller fit again), and we should be capable of challenging for the top 6.
Very true Im surprised he hasnt been approached already. Given our Cup feats, I reckon there's not many Championship managers ahead of him in the pecking order. He's up there with the best, for sure.
McCarthy, Warnock, Boothroyd in my opinon there are lots of better managers in this division than davey
Walter Smith he's the replacement for Sir Alex. when the blue half of Glasgow have lifted all 4 trophies this season. You watch.
RE: Very true maybe Moyes is stalling on his new contract to see if Ferguson retires after the Champs League final? Would be a good way for him to finish - but equally I could see him going on for another 5 years Moyes would certainly be one of the favourites to succeed him (along with Hughes and Keane).
Would not swap Simon Davey for any Championship manager........ (Although Derby are in the Championship now arn't they, and that would be a close call) And I would not swap Simon Davey for many out of the Premeirship. All of the Premeirship managers and most of the Championship managers thrive when there are millions upon millions to spend.........Simon Davey has managed in the Championship with only a small percentage of what other Championship managers have to spend For example.........centre forward at Sheffield United......... £2 MILLION per year wages
Are you for real SM Jesus H Christ what world do live in, nay what planet are you on, Davey isa POOR manager which has been clearly demonstrated with the teams league standing of which there is no hiding from , its no use saying injuries played a part, a good manager gets replacements, also a good manager who pays the best part of a transfer budget on players whom he will not give a chance is POOR management. And a cup run does not make for a good season, its just a smoke screen for a POOR manager Get your head out of the sand and at least be objective instead of being led by the collar....
