WE WANT TO GIVE OUR TOWN AND OUR FANS SOMETHING TO SHOUT ABOUT - SIMON

Posted on:Thu 06 Mar 2008
WATCH MORE ON BARNSLEY WORLD TV!!!
REDS manager Simon Davey gave his thoughts ahead of the FA Cup Quarter Final with Chelsea.
Simon said: "To be honest we did have a plan to deal with Chelsea but then Ryan Kidd and I went to Stamford Bridge last night and we might have to change it!!!
"Seriously though it is a fantastic game for this club and it has been a very long time since we were in a FA Cup Quarter Final.
"It will be a fantastic occasion and the players are up for it. We have to make sure we are prepared. I am a little closer in my mind as to what team will play. There are one or two who have staked a good claim for a place in the last couple of weeks and we have changed things a lot since that game with Liverpool for one reason or another. It will be a different game completely against Chelsea but we know how we will approach the match.
"We have sold out and it will be fantastic here. We are relishing the challenge and it nice to give our home support a glamour tie here. We want to give our town and our fans something to shout about.
"It will be a great occasion and bringing the likes of Drogba and Lampard here is fantastic. That is as far as it goes - we have beaten Liverpool at Anfield and we will give it a go on Saturday. We want to make this town proud.
"The FA Cup has been a nice distraction and we started the league campaign well and were up to fourth at one stage. We had a bad January and although it is great to be in a Quarter Final, I would rather have nine extra points in the league.
"We will have to change things for the FA Cup but we have players here who can step into the team and do well.
"We have no injury worries apart from the long terms ones. We had a worry over Marciano Van Homoet who came off on Tuesday with a sore ankle but he trained with us this morning and should be ok.
"We want our supporters behind us right from the start. You do not get many occasions like this and we want to make it as intimidating as possible for Chelsea. We want a noise from 15-minutes before kick off and right through.
"Anything is possible. Nobody gave us a chance at Anfield. We hoped that we could play well and we came away with a result. Chelsea are a different proposition but my players have a belief that they can go out into every game and win. I am not going to take that belief from them and they will go into Saturday in that frame of mind.
"I am sure that my players will have their chests puffed out and will put on a performance that can make everybody proud.
"The country was focused on Barnsley ten years ago and hopefully we are bringing some of that back now".

So Davey has more or less decided on his team Well to be honest he aint really got much choice seeing as 2 are out injured 2 suspended and he has already made sure that about 6 others are not in his plans how many players are we actually left with to choose from? Dont think Avram will have to think much about what team Davey is gonna put out
"Proof Corrected" I noticed some mistakes as well haha. All that's left now is for the players to perform just like Davey as described them.
this should fool him Odejaye
Howard JCR Leon Ferenci
Souza Foster Hassell Kozluk
van Houmet Togwell

i like the look of that team. got something about it. Kayode can "put himself about a bit" in our box. Leon and JCR can dominate at the back and quick enough to cover for one another. Not sure about Hassle at centre midfield. That's plain stupid!
