Simon Davey is set to leave Barnsley by mutual consent.

The beleaguered boss would have been sacked if Barnsley had dropped from the Championship and he has been asked to make out a case for staying by club owner Patrick Cryne.

But Davey, who memorably guided the Yorkshire club to the FA Cup semi-final last season after dumping out Premier League big guns Liverpool and Chelsea before losing to Cardiff at Wembley, is likely to be offered an opportunity to negotiate severance terms.

Considering they aren't meeting until today...

.... I think I'd take the report with a pinch of salt.

    if it was true.................

it implies a decision has already been made. If that is the case what on earth was the point of PC's statement on Radio Sheffield that he will need persuading? My guess is it isn't all done and dusted yet. On Radio Sheff this am they played the section where he said the players are all behind him and its a pity the fans aren't the same. We shall see

Thanks for the memories: After guiding the Championship club to the FA Cup semi-final last year, Simon Davey is set to leave Barnsley by mutual consent

I wont build my hopes up. Generally the nationals struggle to spell our name correctly so the legitimacy of this article has to be questioned.

Yes but they spelt Daveys name right

So they are not confusing us with Burnley. Think of the implications on the statement. 'Negotiating Severence Pay'
They are stating he has already been sacked and its a matter of how much he gets in compensation.
If it was untrue, it could be very damaging for the club and Davey.

    Gladly.

Put it this way : If he's sacked/asked to leave etc because he can't 'get his message across' and If we want a media darling in charge then then it's time we all just packed up and went home.

He has to do one thing - improve results.

how do you feel about this manager dirk? if we had have been a top 12 side all would have been OK?
    just asking like.
I have been disapointed with a number of things this season but prefer to be where we are for next season than have another spackman/parkin situation.
2 many on here voice their " opinions " when not attending the games.
