Good shout. That line up does appear to be the best of a poor squad.

But the defence is absolute garbage choose who you put in there. How can have 3 defenders on one player and not one of them gets a tackle in. We have to get not one but 2 central defenders in.

We have to start with both Hungarians. Just look at the quality of Ferenczi when compared to Richards. The lad looked to have an excellent first touch. Note Mr Richards no hand balls. One thing I noticed about Richards today was that he was jumping early. He was on his way down when the Defender started to jump and he was beaten to the ball almost every header.

So Mr Coachman, still think Davey is the man for the job? If so perhaps you could rationalise the selection of Mattis and McCann in centre midfield. Furthermore, why is our most influential player (Howard) continually marginalised on the left wing. You might also like to explain Davey's other midfield howlers that started with leaving Devaney and Howard out and went through picking Robbie Williams and finally leaving out Togwell. Only I don't have any badges so I don't understand these things.

Well, I can understand your disappointment.

Davey came to a team which was in the bottom half of the division and looking beaten before they kicked off. As a manager he inherited a very poor squad which even though they were up for a fight at the begining of the season were punch drunk by November. He has tried various permutations to try and improve the team which hasn't paid off but he has to try and do some thing.

He does seem to have a fixation with bringing in midfielders, which reminds me of the Spackman era, which I find a little worrying.

I am as an ex defender myself very unhappy that he hasn't given priority to signing a decent centre half. Neither Kay, who would never play for the club again if he did walk out of the club today, or Paul Reid are of Championship standard. You know it ,I know it , AR thought they were and did nothing to improve this area or any other area of the team.

The two Hugarians look as if they actually communicate on the field rather than play 30 yards a way from each other. I think Davey has brought in a pairing who will play as a strike partnership rather than as two individuals. Lastly, when have I ever had a go at anyone for not having coaching qualifications?

    fecking happy now? :D

I just think that some of the players Davey picked today are not cut out for this division. FFS it was so obvious, stick to our strengths and we could still do it. Perming any three from four every single match is not working. A balanced settled side is what's needed. Rajczi showed a few touches but was way off the pace, but he will improve. Ferenczi was excellent for the time he was on, and for me got the Oscar. Put him with Nardiello and we could it the winning formula, and Hayes brought back into the team. (doh) (titanic)

I came away from Cardiff when we won promotion thinking that we needed to strengthen the spine of the team, in that we are in agreement. Unlike yourself, I think that Andy Ritchie would have also been aware of the problem with the team. However, Shepherd undermined him by suggesting that he was not trying to strengthen, when the real problem was undoubtedly that sufficient funds (both transfer fee and wages) were not being made available. It looks to me that Mr Davey was brought to the club (Badges and all) with the intention of replacing Andy Ritchie as soon as results deteriorated and fan pressure increased to a point when it could be done without fear of repercussions. You were particularly critical of Ritchie's methods and results and have been particularly supportive of Davey's qualifications and methods, though you are tending to make fewer and fewer postings as results and performances have worsened. Nevertheless, you deserve praise for replying to me previous posting, and I would hope that you will also reply to this. IMHO the board have made an enormous mistake and it is difficult to know how the hell they are going to get out of it.

Well he says its because they haven't been playing.
I think he also said one of them has only had 3 training session with the team.

I was paying particular attention today to Reijczi. He made some excellent diagonal runs into space but the ball wasn't played down the channels early enough for him, or like Devaney kept doing, they ran towrds the space he had moved into and he had to spin off and go and find space again. Our midfield weren't picking up his runs but that should improve with a few more games.

Ferenczi looks a class player he does have excellent technique and every thing he did was measured. Now anyone who says Richards holds the ball up well should take a good look at this guy. When the ball was played to him he mastered it .There was no flapping about looking to wrestle the defender, he focused on the ball and made it work for him.

Then start with them and take them off when they tire

You're spot on about Ferenczi, their defenders couldn't deal with him
