And 6ft 4in, is he still growing? He played last season at Belgium club Charleroi, making 16 appearances and scoring twice. His CV also includes a spell in Dutch football. He has been training at Oakwell and will play tonight in a friendly at Buxton or tomorrow against Rotherham United and could face Premier League Wigan at Oakwell on Tuesday night. "Myself and Kelham O'Hanlon went over to Belgium to see him play," Barnsley manager Simon Davey confirmed. "We've got three games to have another look at him and make up our minds." Barnsley have been trying to sign a centre back following the release of Antony Kay. Souza is likely to play part of the game tonight because skipper and central defender Paul Reid has been laid low with sickness. Broken hand victim Marciano Bruma will miss the rest of pre-season. He saw a specialist yesterday and it has been decided to put a plate onto the damaged bone. "If he has the operation on Monday or Tuesday, then we can look at having a light-weight cast fitted," Davey said. Dutchman Bruma has not been ruled out of the opening match of the season against Coventry two weeks on Saturday. Defender Bobby Hassell will not feature tonight or tomorrow. He is still unable to train because of an knee injury. Nathan Joynes proposed loan move to Bradford City has still not been resolved. Bradford want the 21-year-old striker for a six month period but terms have not been settled. Davey said he intends to take a full first team squad to Buxton tomorrow and the same players will be on duty at Millmoor tomorrow.

Surprised that the same players will be on duty twice in less than a day. Probably be a fair few subs on show then.
I would imagine that tonight will be much more like a training session, with tomorrow treated as the proper first team game.
Probably......... with a few of the players out. Bruma and Hassell missing is disapointing and makes things at the back not so strong. I hope Bobby isn't far off returning. We need a player of his class fully fit.
bit of a concern re Hassell it's taken a long while to still not be right-do we know exactly what the problem was/is??
Yes. Gingervitis. Too many carrots & Irn Bru in his diet. I think he's got a ruptured bell end. I could be wrong though.
I knew they were keeping something from us good job we can get the insider info from you-keep up the good work
PS do you think the gingervitis is terminal or do you know of a cure??
