Here are some thoughts that would bring me round to be a Davey supporter:

1.He needs to lose the arrogant single minded attitude befitting a Brian Clough not a manager who has been in the game two minutes

2.He needs to build a better rapport with the fans and ALL the players. Simply put whether you think he has done a good job or not many people i have spoken to dont like the man himself

3.Improve his tactical ability. When we concede first he hasnt a clue and i always think we will lose if we let one in first.

4.Be a bit more honest when summing up the game afterwards. If we play crap and only created a few chances say so. It gets more respect.

5.Find a way of getting shut of the players who are obviously not going to be regulars who are still in contract. Many of which he brought in himself.

6.Find 3 new strikers who actually know where the net is.

7.Stop playing players out of position when everyone in the ground knows it to be true.

8.Give youth more of a chance rather than sending them on loan never to come back

9.Put a consistent set of results together. 3 wins in a row would be a start.

10.Put out a more consistent style of football. Some days we look good playing the ball on the floor, other days we are lumping it in the air. What is Daveys style?

11.Win some local derbies. Chances are we wont repeat our cup exploits, and we wont be a top 6 team. It makes a big difference to me if we can beat our local rivals

12.Build on our 11 quality players we have. We have the basis for a good team, we now need a good squad

13.A mid table finish would be progress for me next season. I seem to remember Davey saying at the start of this last campaign that improvement would be not looking over their shoulders at the end of the season. We were doing and in my mind finishing closer to the bottom 3 than the season before isnt progress. 12th place would do me.

He's no more arogantthan other managers in my opinion and is a great bloke when you speak to him. If a player is disruptive then I'm all for the manager to make sure he gets nowhere near the team.

2.He needs to build a better rapport with the fans and ALL the players. Simply put whether you think he has done a good job or not many people i have spoken to dont like the man himself.

    As above

3.Improve his tactical ability. When we concede first he hasnt a clue and i always think we will lose if we let one in first.

I agree he is naive at times but he doesn't have much in backup to change a game. Too often this season our subs have not been as good as the players on the pitch so we only weaken the team by making changes.

He also did OK at Scuny after half time.

4.Be a bit more honest when summing up the game afterwards. If we play crap and only created a few chances say so. It gets more respect.

I agree but you don't know what he says in private to the players and he's from the school of positive thinking.

5.Find a way of getting shut of the players who are obviously not going to be regulars who are still in contract. Many of which he brought in himself.

Most of his signings have been good but like all managers he's signed some crap ones (even Alex ferguson does- Kleberson? Jemba Jemba)

6.Find 3 new strikers who actually know where the net is.

All teams want goalscorers and we can't compete with what they can pay out and pay in wages

7.Stop playing players out of position when everyone in the ground knows it to be true.

This is because the squad isn't strong enough in certain positions. Hassell did OK in midfield and probably did an equally good job as Togwell

8.Give youth more of a chance rather than sending them on loan never to come back.

We all want 11 Barnsley born players in the team but they might not be good enough. I'd rather have none and stay up than 11 and go down.

9.Put a consistent set of results together. 3 wins in a row would be a start.

We just don't have the quality to do that. With quality comes consistency

10.Put out a more consistent style of football. Some days we look good playing the ball on the floor, other days we are lumping it in the air. What is Daveys style?

Sometimes the oposition make you play in a way you don't want to. Again, this shows a lack of quality to impose a style on the oposition

11.Win some local derbies. Chances are we wont repeat our cup exploits, and we wont be a top 6 team. It makes a big difference to me if we can beat our local rivals.

I couldn't agree more but in all four games we put out the team I would have chosen but didn't win so there's not a lot he could have done about that.

12.Build on our 11 quality players we have. We have the basis for a good team, we now need a good squad.

Agree, this answers most of your questions above.

Mid tabel would be good for me too. Plymouth should be who we look to. On the other hand, although we we in a relegation battle until fairly late on in th eseason I still think we did OK when you look at the money other teams around us have spent.

I think Crynes looking to get the attendances up to compete with Burnley, Plymouth, Preston and give us a bit more credibility attendance wise and obviously the improved spending power that would bring.

Also with regard to the "relegation battle". People forget that we ended up in a favourable position, only needing 3 points from a possible 12. Mind you the fact that 3 is all we got made it a bit worrying.
