What has the man to do before you accept him.I'm sure none of your gripes are personal because you've probably never met him.
I don't understand when people call him stubborn, he's kicked out most of the players that were'nt good enough and kept out players that don't put enough effort in.
Yes I have met him not at a meeting ,but on his own privately, he was arrogant and came across as a big head, that is why I dont like him. He has kept us up, so good on him, but I cant see myself ever liking him.
Well for one thing qualifications mean nothing. He's arrogant and stubborn because he won't play players who don't put the work into training or who like to go on the piss in the 72 hours before a game. IMHO the man was been excellent for us even though some of his team selections have left me scratching my head. He is a massive improvement on what we had before him and thanks to him we are not back in the Ale House League. He managed tour best FA Cup run in living memory and we may have beaten the Champions League Winners. He's a good manager and I hope he gets to manage in the Premier League with BFC.
so tell me that must meen Nardiello puts effort in during training but is useless during the meatches, now i know he tried against Leicester but your saying Kim tried less in training?
Met him a few times and speaks well and had time for everyone around. I have doubted whether he does have issues with players / hold grudges.
Love him or hate him, Simon is still learning his trade as a manager and he is bound to make mistakes as he goes. I think the good decisions he's made have outweighed the poor ones. Being a decent manager at Championship level is a steep learning curve, and he seems to be going about the challenge in the right manner. One thing's for certain, he's extremely passionate about the job he is doing.
RE: Yes I have met him I'm sure he thought you were a lovely bloke too. Get over it, he's our manager, you dont have to like him. If you cannot see what he has achieved this year then I worry for your sanity.
The question was not about whether he liked me, it said I doubt if you have met him, I responded and said I had and did notlike him. It has nothing at all tgo do with my sanity and i could not give aflying **** what you or Simon Davey thinks about me. But if a question is asked I believe we all have the right to answer in our own way, not just the way YOU want me to answer.
I'm honestly not trying to start an argument with you here Mark, just making an observation. But if someone disagrees with your opinion, it doesn't mean that they are saying you aren't entitled to one. You use that argument pretty much every time someone disagrees with you. In this case, if Davey came across that way to you then that is fair enough. But even if I didn't like him as a bloke, I'd accept taking us to an FA Cup Semi Final and still keeping us up (which Millwall failed to do when they reached the FA Cup Final due to the strain placed on them throughout the cup run) is a pretty decent season - particularly when 55 points at this stage of the season would have seen us comfortably safe last season whereas this season is just a freak season. I know its been a bit of a drama but for a first full season in charge, I'd say he's done a solid job, despite some occasionally bizarre selections which have faded towards the end of the season - perhaps learning from his mistakes?
Although he might have issues with certain players for whatever reason he has created a fantastic team spirit. The high fives and hugs from player to player and manager alike shows this.
Who said anything about Kim not putting effort in and who say Nards don't put effort in but probably yes.
I answered the question. I put my reasons for not likng Davey, yet my sanity was then questioned. I think that everyone is entitled to say whatever they want to. I have seen numerous post where Davey has been praised for being a nice bloke, I have only said what happened to me, he may well have just had an off day, but I dont like him, but as I originally said he kept us up and good on him for that. I dont have to like someone , but I would like to respect them and Davey lost the respect I had the day I talked to him. He may well turn out to be the greatest manager in the league, but I am undecided about him, thats an improvement on how I felt not long ago.
I am very optimistic about the future of the team with SD in charge. I have met him, found him a pleasant, charming man, and consider like Matt1575 that he is on a learning curve, but he will improve the team and our position, and as he learns the mistakes will become less frequent. In a generations time, I think he will be considered one of the top managers.
