Discuss... Arguments for and against: I'll start. He is bordering on it. After the lessons of an atrocious end to the last league season I would have thought that even a rookie manager could EASILY identify the areas that needed attention. - Lack of pace at the back - Lack of a left winger - Hassell is not a midfielder - We need a goalscorer - Don't freeze out good players on a whim (ie Kozzy) - Odejayi is not and never will score goals at this level - We need a pattern of play that actually works - We need quality Championship players adding to the squad ******************************************** Then, in pre season the areas that need attention. - Lack of pace at the back - Lack of a left winger - El Ham unproven - Hassell is not a midfielder - We need a goalscorer - Odejayi is not and never will score goals at this level - We need a pattern of play that actually works - We need quality Championship players adding to the squad - Howard needs shipping out or dropping Not much difference is there? I believe Davey is our biggest problem at the moment, along with Howard acting like a lovely person. Davey must wake up to his own mistakes before its too late for our club. I'll support BFC til I die, but I will not blindly support employees of the club who are simply letting us down, over and over again.
Its his arrogance that winds me up, last season constantly playing a player out of position, playing a player who is clearly not good enough in a vain attempt that he might change into a decent player, freezing out players who could strengthen the squad when we desperately needed them and sticking with the same tactics when they clearly don't work. Sometimes i think he puts himself before the club and that is not the way to manage a football team.
The answer, I'm afraid, has to be yes. We are 10 days away from the new season and we now have more problems within the squad than anyone could have ever believed. Not even Fergie could sort this one out easily. I really hope against hope that I am proved wrong, but he will be gone by the end of October. He has lost the plot.
