Sorry if this has already been posted! We have got a young defensive midfielder on trial this week. He's only 18 and has played for hungary U18's. Started the reserves game that kicked off at 2pm. will have a whole squad of hungarians here soon, I can see it now!
Puskas was small in height but not around the waist! That lad did like a pie or maybe a goulash! Didn't realise he was new until the end of the session when they did something similar to the bleep test which he sat out with the reserve game in mind by the sounds of it. By the way Howard and Devaney led the way fitness wise with Eckersley, Kyel Reid and suprisingly Togwell finding it tough going!
Bloody hell, forgot about the game. Was going to finnish work early and go, im only 5 mins from elland rd as well.
Oh, the bleep test. I have it on CD and it's a tough one. If it's done correctly there would be no way he would be able to give his best this afternoon. You can buy it off ebay for £4 and test yourself. Then you can compare your results with the top sports men.
One of the worst I have seen do it is Kevin Miller, not unexpected, and the lad who ended up playing for Locke Park was one of the best as was Alan ? the kid from NZ.

The young lad didn't do it just watched. They ran 2 lengths of the indoor training pitch in 20 seconds then had 30 secs rest then 4 lenghts in 40 secs followed by a 30 secs rest all the way up to 12 lenghts and then back down to 2 lenghts. I was knackered just watching! Anyone that thinks Howard is over weight or unfit or drinks too much should have seen him he pissed all over the others barring Devaney!
RE: though the bleep test is seriously flawed nt Seriously flawed?
Explain please.
Its just one of a battery of tests used to assess fitness.

Ah, thats not the beep test then. In the beep test there are no rest periods. It sounds like an interesting variant which achieves the same result.
In the beep test the player would run 20 metres in time with the bleeps.
The speed increases by 0.5 kmh every 60 seconds until the player misses three bleeps.
