"Obviously it's come out of the blue as I only found out about the job when I got a call from Simon Davey at quarter to five yesterday afternoon and after learning all about the players with Simon through the night, I was straight out onto the training ground this morning to do some work with the back four ahead of tomorrow's game.

if Davey phoned him up and asked him to be assistant then it doesn't make sense if someone else is going to be manager-if there was someone else lined up then Davey reverts to his old post of Academy manager which is below Kidd's new job.

If he knew he wasn't getting the job fulltime he'd at least have been angling for the assistant's job having tasted first team management-or am I being daft??

I just hope that it is a misunderstanding at Bury and the new appointment is for an assistant Academy manager. There is no-one to take the Academy at Leeds tomorrow if Davey is taking charge of the first team.

Simon and I go back a long way after playing and coaching together at Preston, and I know that the club has secured itself an excellent manager who's got all the coaching qualifications you can think of. I'm looking forward to the challenge, and I'm sure that we can go on to enjoy some great success."

in my grammar that says Simon is the excellent manager referred to

    RE: no misunderstanding

I know that you are just being realistic, but it does not mean that when Davey reverts to being Academy Manager, Kidd could not revert to being his assistant. At least grant me a light at the end of this tunnel of dispair.

Why hire Davey as Manager? I would rather have a more experienced one, than one who just have been in the academy coaching kids. I fear we´re going back down to League One again. If i am wrong i shall run naked around Oakwell.

    I want Spackman back.

    And rid of Gord.

I'd love the club to be run by "Paddy & Spacks".

    Add to that

all these players coming here. Can't believe the board just got all these players without some input from the future manager.

So is Rick on the way out too?

And if so, has he resigned out of loyalty to AR or did Shepherd inform him by the wonderful medium of Text cos he didn't have the bottle to telll him to his face? Or perhaps he doesn't even know yet. Stranger things have happened!
