Davey on Anderson and transfers...

    I asked him about the possibility of signing Anderson, he said it's a 'no' from Everton at the moment but he will keep asking and trying to sort something before Thursday elapses.

    He also said there's no-one else he's looking at as he feels the squad is now big enough and every area is covered. (I'm slightly concerned about centre half but I suppose we've got Hassell and Atkinson if we get injuries who can do a job).

    As for the strikers, he refused to suggest that any would necessarily leave now despite there being 7 of them.

    Hopefully tomorrow it will be confirmed that we are on TV against liverpool and an extra 100k or so can be offered for anderson

    We desperatly need a midfielder if Anderson isn't coming.

    I can't really see why Everton won't let him go...

    He can't even got on the pitch when their midfield has been decimated by injury.

    I would have thought it would be

    the fourth round TV ties were decided the day after the draw so I see no reason why it shouldnt be decided by tomorrow which is 2 days after.

    Plus their is a rule that says the teams must contact each other within 2 days of the draw to arrange ticketing etc so it would make sense if any decisions as to the day/time of the games was made by tv companies withn those two days too

    I heard today

    that it is because anderson wants a pay off from <strike>derby</strike> everton because of the stepdown in wages that he'd have to take joining us and they are unwilling to give him one. Probably wrong though
