I'll just point out that I'm happy to support whatever decision PC makes, but many are calling for Davey's head. My biggest arguement against this idea was always that there wasn't exactly a wealth of good replacements out there. Having said that I found it quite interesting to read what Roy Keane said yesterday: "I'd be happy to go anywhere. I would be happy to manage a Championship club." "I'm happy to move house. I’m not tied to Manchester." http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/sunderland/7903510.stm I think if Davey were to go he'd be a great replacement. In the end, improving the non-playing staff is just as important as improving the playing staff, so maybe it'd be something to look at. I'm not saying I want Davey to leave, but it's food for thought.
I think Roy Keane would get on splendidly with the current Board structure at BFC. What with him not being his own man and not having strong opinions and that.
that be Roy Spend it like no tomorrow Keane who had in his regin at Sunderland brought in around 70 odd players?
The fact is, even before he started bringing in his own players Sunderland improved massively. As far as I'm aware Patrick Cryne has no issue with people having opinions so i don't know where that came from. If you read the rest of the article that I posted a link to you'd see why he left. I thought he left just because he wasn't getting his own way but it turned out to not be the case. It sounds like him and Niall Quinn had a similar relationship to Davey and Cryne until the american investor joined. I think he could improve the ability of our current squad but also has the connections in the game to attract other players to the club.
To be honest Jon I think the King Charles Spaniel in the other thread would be an improvement on simon davey
thing is.. Bassett has taken a club to the premiership with back to back promotions, another club to the premiership, took a club to a fa cup semi final, two clubs to a play off final....whilst Davey..........
I agree you are comparing a manager that knows how to motivate players with a fecking idiotic lunatic that thinks its a great idea to try and stifle the midfield and score on the counter attack against the worst side in the division. No comparison :'( :'(
ok then Bassett got wimbledon promoted in his first season.... and if Davey achieves a quarter of what Bassett did in 20 years then I will bare my arse i Primark window.....(now Woolies has closed)....
RE: I agree The comparison was one of what they had achieved in their managerial career. I am not saying that I think SD is a better manager than DB, by the way.
RE: fairy nuff You did go off on a bit if a tangent. From King Charles Spaniel to Bassett, maybe you were thinking of the hound?
