Sorry. We were brilliant, we played to the best of our ability and Flitcroft (Despite his claims to the contrary) got the team selection absolutely spot on. Scott Wiseman really proved his critics wrong.
You do realise that everything isn't black and white and there are shades of grey? You don't have to just deal in absolutes. It means valid criticism gets lost in the nonsense.
Valid criticism: 1. Wiseman allowed their winger to STAND in 20 yards of space. Whether that winger is a man city player or a frickley athletic player that is rank bad defending, plain and simple. 2. Etuhu has no defensive skills at all. This was proved in the last home game and yet bafflingly he got the nod on the right wing where he would be needed to defend to help out Wiseman. This is poor team selection. 3. Better and more experienced players were sat on the bench than were in the starting line up. Points 1, 2 and 3 combined to ensure we were never going to be able to give them a fight. I don't necessarily believe we would have beaten them had he selected his best team but I am absolutely certain we would have played better than we did.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz how the **** do you know how we would have played against anyone else. They've played 3 champ teams in the FA cup and beat them all quite easy and that includes Watford who are going for Automatic promotion. If Barnsley played another team we could have beat them possibly, but we didn't we played the team that most wants to win that tournament and have the players to do so.
If you think you are beaten, you are; If you think you dare not, you don’t. If you’d like to win, but think you can’t, It’s almost a cinch you won’t. If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost, For out in the world we find Success begins with a fellow’s will; It’s all in the state of mind. If you think you’re outclassed, you are; You’ve got to think high to rise. You’ve got to be sure of yourself before You can ever win a prize. Life’s battles don’t always go To the stronger or faster man; But soon or late the man who wins Is the one who thinks he can. The prosecution rests
The last thing you do as a full back against quality opposition is get pulled out wide. You stay compact as a back four. Where I do agree is the problem was that we were too exposed down the right because he'd played Etuhu to tuck in to try and stop them playing through the middle. This left Kolorov free to push on and that was our undoing. That said, if we'd have played with more width we'd have left holes in the middle. What Man City did yesterday may have looked simple, but it was anything but. In countering one threat we exposed ourselves to others.
