Re: wouldn't be a complete surprise... ...since Wilson the Owl there can't be many managers who have started and finished a season (am i right in saying Ritchie and possibly Bassett?), then again i think Shep is looking for stability but if we are in the bottom 3 in November I have a feeling that there might be a change if the right man is available.
Have to be honest. and say yes, hope he proves me wrong and gets a statue outside town hall but dont think it will happen. I dont think he will handle foriegn imports and internationals...only my opinion like BT
Re: wouldn't be a complete surprise... Agreed there, and that's what worries me - because Davey's had the opportunity to splash the cash the pressure's going to be on even more so and, over recent seasons, we've hardly become reknowned for our patience where managers are concerned. However, I'm feeling quite optimistic so, hopefully, that situation isn't going to occur. Davey has earned the right to manage this season and hopefully he'll be the guy to stop the manager-go-round, at least for a few seasons...

Give the man credit, he did keep us up. But what worries me, however, is we survived with the skin of our teeth. Although we turned in a few memorable performances the team around us were utter rubbish (Leeds Luton Southend Hull etc etc) They were all in free fall at the end of the season. My thoughts, for what they are worth, are that he has not got the experience to handle the variable styles of all the incoming players. By mid October it will be sadly noticable with a poor league position and his job will be in question. I do hope I'm wrong because he has the commitment to succeed but not the ability.
But he's the one who has signed these "foreign imports and internationals" so why do you feel he won't be able to handle them?
I wouldnt be surprised if he gets us into the top 6 and gets offered a job with a much bigger club. Im THAT confident having watched him in action with the players and met and spoken to him.
Yes Lets Call For His Head......... just because we lost a meaningless training game today. Are the players not the ones who have to gel before people are had a go at? Was Davey on the pitch playing?

Steady on, mate! I mean, I'm optimistic like, but there's optimism and then there's optimism!!! You been today?
RE: I wouldnt be surprised if he gets us into the top 6 i,m with you i think we will be nearer the top than the bottom only if we sign some experienced centre halfs and not the guy from burnley! Then all these muppets on here will be saying i hope he doesn,t leave!
I've given up trying to defend him to be honest It's a waste of time.
What is the point of posting something like : 'Davey to be sacked by Xmas'

Why not give the guy a chance especialy as he is bringing in his own players.
(doh) I can't get my head round it.

Acadamy to Internationals Speaks volumes....word is respect and I dont think he will hack it..as I said only my opinion and I wait to be proved wrong BT
Nowt to do wi today DB It's a gut feeling and believe me my gut is big enough...I really do hope I am wrong and if he is still here at xmas I will appologise to all and sundry (when I get back from my hollidays lOl) BT
