<div class="headingMain" id="ViewArticle1_divHeadline">Davey seals de Silva deal</div> <div class="firstpara" id="ViewArticle1_divFirstPara">BARNSLEY have secured Everton's Anderson de Silva for a second spell on loan. </div> The player was set to sign a new temporary contract today. "I've spoken to Everton, I've spoken to the player and the agent, everything is in place," manager Simon Davey confirmed. The Brazilian went back to Goodison yesterday after his one-month loan expired at the weekend. De Silva, aged 25, has started all five of his games for Barnsley since his debut in the home win over Plymouth Argyle last month, and has helped the club climb to seventh in the table. Rob Kozluk is being tipped to return to the Barnsley side against Cardiff City on Saturday. Davey has earmarked the former Sheffield United full back as the replacement for suspended Dominik Werling. Left-back Werling was red-carded at Southampton for two bookings and sits out Saturday. Kozluk was ruled out of that game with a groin injury. Grant McCann, Barnsley's two-goal hero on Saturday, has won his way into the Championship team of the week. Millwall have asked about taking Barnsley midfielder Dwayne Mattis on loan. For personal reasons he will not leave Oakwell. Grimsby have completed the signing of former Barnsley striker Nathan Jarman. The 21-year-old linked up with the Mariners in the summer and has now been given a month's contract. "He's worked tremendously hard and has been given a month to see how he does. "We can assess him properly now," manager Alan Buckley said. Jarman made 19 appearances for Barnsley, mainly as a substitute, before being released at the end of last season.
Because.......... his mother is in hospital and he doesn't wish to move down south at this time. Excellent news about De Silva.
Bit of regular first team football would be good for him and Barnsley... ...can understand about his mother though. Normally when a london club comes knocking players can't wait to get down there
The world of Association Football has gone mad. Dwayne-Dibley Mattis - best player on the pitch at St James' Park. Grant McCan't - rifling stunning free kicks into the top corners at will. What next? Paul Reid winning a header? Nick Colgan claiming a cross? Andy Johnson running faster than a snail? Rob Kozluk looking like our best paid player? Miguel Mostto looking like a footballer? Hans £300k Christian Anderson getting on the bench? It's madness, pure madness.
