As in my previous postings and a lot of critics calling for him sacking. I have seen much better performances the last few games. Looks as though somebody has had a word in his ear. The last two games have shown the team can respond to the threat of relegation and I have confidence with this in mind we can pick up the necessary points to stay up. A change of Managers at this stage would possibly halt the recent progress. So for me its .......Davey In (Y) (Y) (Y) What happens next season is a matter for debate.
Davey out Even if we stay up the club hasnt achieved anything in the LEAGUE throughout the past 2 years. If we stay up and dont improve next season well!
No point in sacking him now, wait till May when its all over then show him the door. This small run of form is no different to ones we have seen many times before under Davey only to then fall into 6 or 7 poor performances and results. He doesn't know how to get the best out of his players week in week out. One other thing is that this manager splits the fans like no other, i think we need someone to unite the fans and give us something to get excited about at 3pm on a saturday afternoon.
Question for yer Why can we go to Derby, a very difficult place of late to go, out play them, keep a clean sheet and earn a good point when the PRESSURE is on Why can't we do same at Ipswich, Palace, QPR etc etc at various stages of the season We only seem to start playing when everybody had wrote us off i.e Preston and Watford away last term Football is not surely about that is it? Why can't he get the team to pick more points up away from home earlier in season, to avoid us being in this situation and ultimatley calling for his head? I;d love him to turn it around, but i can't see next season being any different
Davey will be here until the end of the season, if he keeps us up he will be here next season also. If we are in the bottom three next season from August until Christmas, then Mr Cryne could reluctantly give him the elbow. But i think Simon Davey will be Barnsleys manager until his contract runs out. Like him or hate him Simon Davey is here for the long haul, and if he is relativley successfull then he could be here for many many years.
I don't suppose you have noticed but when Davey has his full squad to choose from we do well.
The problem is that being a small underfunded Provincial Club we can't afford a £1M player in every position or squad players who are worth more than bag of of Yorkshire mixture.
Davey has done wonders to keep this Club in the Championship with the resources he has had at his disposal. We have a small squad, a poor fan base and a small wage bill compared to most of our rivals.
We play a Club soon who have won the European Cup twice and Leeds are in the Ale House League. Just think about that, and thank God that most of you haven't seen the Club in the old 4th Division.
We didn't moan as much then as you do now.
We got behind the team as we went to places like Darlington, Halifax, Chesterfield, Lincoln, Rochdale and Bury, and never even considered calling for Johnny Steele to be sacked.

good post mailto, im so glad the posters on here dont decide in our boardroom whos hired and fired, we would ave a manager every 6 months and oh by the way wat the **** as paul ince ever done give us a break, its easy to play decisions with other peoples money ,look at poor old charlton playing mighty leeds and possiby european cup winners forrest
Sensible post A lot of truth and fact in that. I just like to reasonably entertained, and I have been in quie a few games this season. But then there have been 7-8 shockers that I've seen just at home. However, things could be a lot worse to be fair.
