Funny how there seems to be a real split between the supporters regarding Davey despite him supposedly keeping us up. In my mind there just seems to be something not quite right about him being in charge. But despite my feelings i just wondered if anyone remembered when Glyn Hodges was in charge (i think for the second time) in Division 3. He had a similar amount of time in charge to Davey and won a similar amount of games, thereby keeping us from dropping into the 4th Division.
i just wonder how many on here were wanting Hodges as manager for the following season having done more or less what Davey has done? I for one didnt want him and was pleased when Gudjon got the job because he was an experienced guy for that league with reasonable success with Stoke. Given another season i think he would have got us in play offs.
But what im trying to say is that despite Davey guiding us to safety like Hodges did why arent all the fans supporting him and is it wise for the club to continue with the guy or to take a chance and put someone else in charge?

Take a look at what else is out there in managerial terms. Should we have Steve Tilson, Denis Wise, Blackwell, Newell, Brown ? Davey has guided the club to 5th from bottom in our first season back in the Championship in his first season in charge. Give him some credit, it's not a fricking personality contest

    The post wasnt to

diss Davey. My opinions are well known like others. I dont want him at the club but everyone has their own opinion. My point is that despite him keeping us up there are still quite a few not supporting him. Why? I just thought the comparison to Hodges was relevent.

...guded my arse, lurched more like, saved by Ipswich scoring in the dieing minutes...were the fortunate wins against Plymouth, Stoke & Birmingham down to the players being arsed and noting to do with Davey's motivation, isnpration & tactics. Too many poor performancs and hammerings to convince me that he has got what it takes.

    I think

You will always get a number of fans not supporting the manager. It is the nature of the fickle football fan.

I wasn't in favour of appointing Simon Davey but you have got to give credit where credit is due. He has kept us up and for that very reason he deserves a crack at seeing what he can do next season.

His achievements this year have gone against the grain of what a lot of people thought (myself included) and it seems that the reaction of some people is to find some other way to criticise him.

By the way, he hasn't "supposedly" kept us up. He has kept us up.

Nowt to do with the 50 points we have picked up then. And lets not forget that we reached 50 points on 21st April. If Ipswich hadnt scored that goal Leeds still wouldnt have reached 50 and Hull didnt either. And why are our wins flukes but our poor performances deserved?</p>
