He didn't go to Spain to watch Nino, yet we've put a bid in for 1.4 million. He makes it really hard for us to trust him.
to be honest this speculation is all well and good but lets wait til Mark stokes has it on his website.
According to the main sport paper in Spain we have put in a bid http://www.marca.com/2009/01/17/futbol/equipos/tenerife/1232194442.html

Googley translated it looks like we've been rejected !! Nino has been dismissed in the final hours of a proposal from Barnsley, military equipment in the English Championship, the equivalent to the Spanish second division, and which sought to incorporate market discipline in this winter. As reflected in the Internet portal frenteblanquiazul.com, the British club's financial offer, which currently occupies one of the last places of its kind, around 1.4 million euros. The player himself confirmed yesterday Radio MARCA the existence of this proposal and the reasons that led him to reject it. "It is true that I was called a few days ago showing an interest, but they replied that it could not accept because my family and I are very comfortable on Tenerife and we do not want to move here. I had no doubt the decision, "he said.
Radio dee-dar asked if he'd been on a scounting mission to look at a player named Nunu......... If my memory serves me correctly SD wasn't asked if he had been to spain on a scouting mission. The question was "rumours have been circulating that you have been on a scouting mission to spain to talk to a player by the name of NUNU is there any truth in this". SD then responded "no, none what so ever". If the reporter had got the players name right then you may have a point! but he said NUNU not NINO, giving SD chance to dodge the question by claiming he had not been on a scouting mission to look at a player named NUNU.......... The media twist things managers say, so when they make mistakes like that why should he give them info. No porkies as far as I can tell. I'm getting bored of this SD witch hunt now, why can't you all just get behind him and the boys.......
Didn't we have this thread two weeks ago re Ward? Davey got lambasted by a few on here for saying he was interested in Ward - even though it had been widely published for the previous few days. Everything Davey does will get twisted by a few that just can not accept him the club.
I think that he's doing a good job, And I think that he's the best man for the job at the minute. I just think that he's also a sneaky ****** at times.
Why, because hes not told you who he's bid for? Then we would have no specualtion. No gossip on who we'd like and who would fit in. Transfers is the most exciting thing about football (especially with the **** we serve up) and the rumour mill is the only decent thing about the transfer window. I for one am happy Davey keeps his card close to his chest.
RE: True The usual Davey lie is regarding injuries from week to week. Player X has not trained and is definitely out, then he turns up on the teamsheet. Player Y is defintely fit, he's trained all week, then he's in his suit on the saturday. I don't expect every transfer to be made public, but I don't want the gaffer to lie.
