But if you take into account the Cup run then it makes you wonder why Davey takes so much criticism. In a very good Championship he is doing a decent job. Far better league than when Wilson was in charge. Difficult to compare I suppose.
This leagues much more competetive these days. Back then hardly anyone had more money than anyone else, you had squads of 16 and certainly didn't have teams like Birmingham hogging any decent championship strikers in their reserves.
As opposed to the main difference is a lot more defeats? Paul should go into politics - So Davey averages 1.2 ppg - over 46 games thats 55 points just above the relegation zone Wilsons first 89 games were 1.46ppg over a season thats 68 points - in touch of the playoffs Not much difference then
I only posted the figures-you can interpret them how you want 16 ofDavey's losses were by the odd goal-as were 13 of Wilson's
If you had only posted the figures mate Nobody would have commented.
It was your spin that started the responses!

And they spell their names differently. If you count the number of letters in their names as 1 point. Wilson is better at that as well, by one point. Which is the difference between promotion and relegation in my head.
isn't the number of wins important as well? Wilson won more, he earned more points through victories AND more points through draws. He also didn't lose as many and I'd say that is the main difference, not that davey didn't draw as many as the difference in draws accounts for 10 points, the difference in victories accounts fo 12. In actual fact, out of the three things listed (wins, losses and draws) the difference in draws between the two managers accounts for the least amount of points so is the least important of everything mentioned in your post
RE: isn't the number of wins important as well? You are all a bit harsh on Paul - bloody hell - I'd pack it in if I was him! I think Chef's post is the key one - surprising how close they are. When you consider how the 2 managers were treated. Wilson - God almighty (as I was corrected by Jay yesterday - very politely I have to add before Windy starts throwing his weight around again) Davey - Devil incarnate.
I'm not sure, but I'm not so keen on the Welsh, so Wilson wins that one too.
Plus I think Davey's probably fatter

RE: isn't the number of wins important as well? I think Isle of Wight Tyke's point is the key one. It's all in the name. And nationality. And height. And weight.
RE: isn't the number of wins important as well? It's true, I thought Danny Wilson was fantastic, but I don't think Simon Davey is a terrible manager. I think he's done a decent job so far, I just happen to think Danny was better. It's early days, but we're on a good run at the moment so maybe Simon Davey has found the winning formula and we can have a season to remember.
RE: isn't the number of wins important as well? Totally agree mate - Wilson found the magic touch at Barnsley. The God Almighty, Devil Incarnate were rash generalisations of what the general populace (or Windy) thinks.
