Davey's Performance as manager.....

I was just wondering how people rated Davey's first season in charge so far.....
Thought of 5 categories to rate him in... Tactics, Team selection, Man management, Transfers & Attitude

Here's my ratings (out of 20)

Tactics - 12/20 - For me he's still learning his trade, when games are getting away from us it feels like sometimes he doesnt have a plan B, or lacks the courage to make changes.

Team Selection - 13/20 - Has a tendency to try and put square pegs in round holes i.e. Hassle in midfield. I know he's trying to show faith in his strikers by picking them week in week out but we need goals not potential.

Man Management - 10/20 - By all accounts he a strict disciplinarian, which if this is the case its worked for managers. The thing is somethings got to give we have numerous players in the squad that have had run ins with him and found themselves out of the team for a while or out permanently! (Kozluk, Ricketts, Johnson, Christensen). The thing is all these players have another 12months to run on their contracts and we are paying there wages, they are no good to us in the corner stand on a match day!!!!!!! then the whole Muller playing on against Colchester.... dont get me started!!!!

Tranfers - 15/20 - I know there have been some shocking additions but Muller, De Silva and Macken more than make up for this..

Attitude - 15/20 - Think he really wants to do well for the club to repay us giving us his chance. I was impressed by his comments when the rumours about the Preston job were flying about

So my rating is 65/100, not bad but still room for improvement!!!!!!

 

interestingly.............

his pts/game in League matches was better last season 1.25 compared to this 1.19 but I think overall his performance this season has been satisfactory-he is still learning and will get better with time-if he is given it !

Im hoping that the club are finally going to stick with there man.... They have given him a four year contract and I hope he's still here being succesful at the end of it!!!!! Look at the clubs in this division that have stuck with managers... there at the top Bristol and Stoke!!!

Gar Johnsons not been at Bristol that long. Brain Tinnion and Danny Wilson before that. This is his 2nd season like Davey?

And Pulis took over in 2006 for his 2nd spell at Stoke

Sorry I forgot about Tinnion, 4 sum reason I though He took over when wilson left in 2004. My point being That would have been 4 years the same length as Daveys contract, but I stand corrected

Think Johnson has done 2 and half seasons? So a bit longer than Davey. Didn't Brittl sack Danny after reaching playoff final?

Yes they did, He finished 3rd 1pt of automatic promotion. Lost to Brighton in the final I think and got the sack!!!!!! Remember in the press people were saying it was out of order!!!!!! At that point the playoffs werent good enough for the club, if memory serves they'd been their or their abouts for about 4 or 5 years.....
