Muller, foster, kozluk, de silva, macken, colace, moore, hume, van homoet, souza, campbell ryce, Davey signing have been crap have they? every manager makes bad buys. Get behind the Team for fooks sake! YOU REDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All managers do make mistakes in the transfer market but we need one who makes less than his counterparts in this league. Small fnances require few mistakes. Last years goalkeeping situation turned out costly. 5 grand a week approx for a guy who doesn`t always make the bench.
you can add itsvan and grant mccann to that list. fact is some folk will never accept davey, which is a real shame
We were all crying out for him to sign Steele last season. Yes he had an iffy start to this season but to blame him for Steele being a cr*p signing is ridiculous.
Don't all managers drop clangers sometimes........ Allan Clarke, signed probably the best player we've ever had in Ronnie Glavin and the worst player we've ever had in Willie Ferry. In Daveys case should we overlook the mistake that was Dwayne Mattis for the undoubted quality that is both Anderson and Colace. You've got to shift a hell of a lot of crap to unearth diamonds.
All GOOD championship clubs have 2 GOOD keepers I agree and Steele is an excellent keeper I never said otherwise. Last Season we had Muller and Letheren as our keepers so we must not have been a good championship side then. Your statement Redders. My point was it was ok to have Letheren there as a token cheap keeper until needed then Davey wanted a better keeper which cost us more in the long run.
RE: johnson, christensen, mostto, oddjob, whaley, rigters nt Depends if you believe he signed Christienson (and Johnson?). I heard from an extremely credible source that the first Davey new of Christienson was when he turned up for training one monday morning.
And for the record. I thnk Davey has done extremely well for us in the transfer market. There can be no doubt that he has strengenthened our squad consistenly in the last 2 seasons. We've got the best squad we've had in years and one with a real team spirit and belief in each other. Yes, the forwards haven't been as prolific as we would like but with the budget we have he simply has to take a few gambles in this department. They haven't come off yet. No manager is 100% successfull in the transfer market. Not even Wenger or Ferguson.
RE: Don't all managers drop clangers sometimes........ I said earlier in the thread that managers do make mistakes. Its the cost of the crap and not being able to offload them that makes the unearthed diamonds, as you put it, harder to get because the **** is clogging up the machine.
mrs hall what if muller took longer to come back or never came back from his injury would you want steele or letheren . we are slowin trying to build a good championsip squad and you should have 2 good keepers in
