Both players went and came back, both players could get you off your seat... If you could remember red hot Currie, who would get your vote?
Currie is my favourite bfc player, not the best but I loved watching him, skillful, goals he was a different type of striker to the rest. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
Silky Dave everytime not just brilliant but did everything in such a laid back, cool way, plus he had better hair and a moustache haha
Currie. Best debut I've ever seen and second best tache after Gary Fleming. And his middle name was Norman.
David Currie was a top player, exciting and really worth the entrance money on his own. Adam Hammill is exciting but in a different way as they play in different positions, saying that Adam Hammill could easily play off a big front man, if we had anyone else to play on the wing of course, defenders dont like people running at them from the space between midfield and up top, he could easily do that, thats where currie was at his most exciting for me, picking the ball up outside the box, running and going past a defender and then slotting it home mind when we brough currie back it wasnt so great! remember him for his first spell
Hammill for me....DC 'S 53 now...nearly as old as me, my legs have gone and I bet his have too. He might do it for 10 mins but I can't see him lasting a full 90.
Currie. I remember we were playing Stoke at home early in the 88/89 season and they had John Gidman (ex Man Utd & England ) playing in defence. Currie had him falling on his arse on the edge of the box just by his body/feet movement. The ball never moved. Currie was a wonderful player in decent team that season and my first idol since Glavin. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
We were in the same div though to be fair when Currie came back. Two very different players ,different scenarios ,both giving great memories would rather celebrate them both than compare.imo
Two of a handful of Reds players who could make the hairs stand up on the back of your neck when they were in full flow. Players you looked forward to seeing as you walked to the match. Great memories from both of them, let's hope Adam can create a few more in his second spell, it's fabulous to have him back.
I remember Currie at Stoke in the cup he scored a beauty that day controlled it one foot and lashed it in with the other on the volley, what a game that was!
