Was just having a read on the bbc sport app about him taking the sociedad gig, and looked at a link at the bottom. It was an interview he gave to them a bit ago, so apologies as this was probably already raised at the time but I don't recall seeing it.

In a section about young talent at Everton, he mentions Barkley, and then stated John Stones was his last signing, saying:

"My staff went out and found John Stones at Barnsley. We probably paid about £1m or £1.5m for him and he looks as though he is going to develop into a top player."

£1m to £1.5m? I fecking hope not. But would be less than surprised if we had our pants ripped down again.

Real Sociedad have a history of having British managers,Chris Coleman was the latest but before him they had John Toshack. They kept sacking him and then setting him on again. I think that he managed the clubs 3 times.
It would have been cheaper to have him on a retainer rather than keep sacking him and paying compensation and then have him back again maybe.

They also had Harry Lowe in the 30s.
