    Don't know if this has been mentioned or whatever but he's out for the rest of the season. Broke his wrist in the warm up at Southampton.

    Also said that it looks like he wont be offered a new deal, which he's quite upset about and that he really wants to stay.

    He's upset that he won't be spending another season sat on his arse on matchdays? Every footie player should want to play. Not seen it anywhere about him breaking his wrist. Next season we should be moving our Lithuanian kid to back up anyway.

    I wouldn't go that far. Warner, Taylor, Mannone. There's three worse for starters.

    They didn't concede 11 goals in 135 minutes though. Martin Taylor only conceded one or two from what I remember and didn't play more than a couple of games on loan. Preece has been pinching money for two years.

    Its not just down to the keeper though, is it? The keeper can't be blamed for poor defensive errors etc.

    See if you can find the goals for QPR and Newcastle away in the 2009-10 season. He played this season and was bloody awful too - Southampton I think it was.

    The point you've made could just have easily been said about Martin Taylor.

    Unlucky david.
    Would still offer him a new 1 year deal.
    Most of the goals he couldn't do a thing with. one of the goals at newcastle the player was stood in front of him offside for example.

    That goal he let in against Southampton was very poor. The ball went back and forth our six yard box a few times, yet he never once thought to come and try and grab it knowing keepers are protected. Still not as bad as the twice in the past month or so Steele has passed the ball to the opposition trying to be too clever, thus conceeding.

    He DOES want to play. He's stated that not playing for us kills him. He's also said that he loves the town, the club and the fans so maybe that's why he wants to stay.

    Even if he isn't wanted for footballing reasons we should be breaking the bank trying to sign him up as the clubs journalist. Him writing the programme and website full time would be a joy to read.

    I'm guessing they didn't have a team in front of them who gave up either? At Newcastle he had no chance, everyone else in the team had practically laid down and died allowing Newcastle to just waltz through and take pot shots without any resistance. I'm glad I wasn't in goal that day.

    He might WANT to play but no one wants to pick him because he's tripe. Might as well have the young lad as number two and give Preece the elbow.
