About to come in the ring. http://www.firstrow1.eu/watch/170812/2/watch-boxing:-david-price-vs-tony-thompson.html
Price has took big hits before. The modern ere of heavyweight boxers hit a lot harder than they dude in Rocky Marciano's ere and also physically a lot bigger. Take it Paquaoa (spelling) also has a dodgy chin? Lenox Lewis as well as Vladimir Klitchko have both been sparked out. Vitali was on the verge of been Jo's by Lewis until the doc stopped the fight. Price needed that, he needed to learn that lesson. Way too raw to earn a chance of a world title. Tyson Fury to wipe out Price? No chance.
its the heavyweight division which is why we love it, you watch bantam, feather and lightweight and they throw 1000 punches no knock out, heavyweight is by far the best division for me. although super middle is not far behind. Lewis, Ali, Tyson and Klitsch all got sparked and returned better, Lewis avenged his two loses. Price is a really talented heavyweight and in my opinion would beat Pikey fury
No questioning his ability he has plenty, but there were questions about his chin in the amateurs and that wasn't a massive punch last night, if he is gonna get sparked by half decent punches then he is going to struggle, like you say it is the heavyweight division. He is gonna have to make sure he doesn't get tagged regularly. Might have a similar career to Khan.
During Price`s boxing career he has been knocked down 14 times, he has always had a suspect punch resistance, he is a very good boxer, but he is a bit "chinny" ! Also, you asked for the name of a heavyweight that had never been knocked out , I gave 2, I agree that the heavies are bigger now, but they are certainly not better. This lot would have been nobodies during the 60`s/70`s.
I think he could have a similar career to Wlad Klitchko, if he tightens his defence up. Wlad got knocked out, f realised he didnt like it and has been safety first since, boring but very effective !
To be fair, he probably could, like I said there is no questioning his own ability. The next couple of years will tell us. Hope he does.
I think Vitalli Klitchko would be there or there abouts in any era; size, style, boxing intellegence. Dull to watch but incredibly effective.
Marciano is far smaller than even David Haye and not big enough to be a modern heavyweight. If he took on a Klitchko it would go the same way as Tyson - Lewis. He may have been knocked down but he got up and won most. And the amateur game can't be compared to the pro ranks.
I prefer Fury, simple as that. As I say, I was big into my boxing years ago and had the pleasure of watching Naz and Calzaghe live on many occasions. I haven't been to any live event for a few years now and my interest has waned tbh. But if I do go to a live event in the next year or so it'll be to a card with Fury on. I like Eubank JR too and they're usually ont same bill. Not as clued up or boxing educated as some on here so no interest in arguing over Price/Fury etc. It's just my opinion that Fury would beat him, but not so sure we'll ever see it. Boxing has been a bit piss poor for a while now. As I say, once Joe retired I lost interest.
