JOB did well at RWB yesterday but does anyone think Dawson could play there? Good defensively and has got forward well down the sides on occasions. This is a strong side . .................Steeley .........Wisey Cranes T.K. Daws........Yaya Dorothy.....RNL ...................Mells ............Daggers COGba
personally, i'd like to see rory back in for RNL. their front men are on fire, and i think his experience in a game of this magnitude will be crucial.
Smashing with the fans yesterday, time for everyone and a big smile. I haven't known such a likeable bunch of lads at Barnsley for years, if ever. Sorry, wing back. Possibly, but Dawson's strength is to go looking for the ball and mixing it up in the middle of the park. Wing back is a very different roll. I'd also worry about the odd rash tackle if he lost his man.
Dawson is too rash to play RWB. JoB did as he was told and stayed on his feet in the role yesterday. In doing so he became effective and grew in confidence and didn't do his usual running around like headless chicken routine. In fact the discipline of the role actually improved his game and his contribution. He's going to get skinned a couple of times sure but that's why there are three at the back to cover. We need cool heads next week and Etuhu, Perkins and Mellis should all start in the middle IMO. If we need fresh legs later to protect a lead, Dawson will be perfect.
Totally agree. Would also have Delap on bench if available - been there seen it done it if we need to see the game out. He won't get pillocked.
To me the team selection if everyone is fit is the easiest one Flicker has had all season - how can you not start the same 11 as yesterday? Dawson and Delap would definitely be good additions to the bench though
I agree, I think Dawson was always lined up for Hudders but who does he drop? We have 3 great central midfielders at the moment in Perks, Kelv and Dawg, in many ways the roles they play are too similar. Any combination of two works but not all three. Jim and Jacob offer much more variation.
