Not started properly yet mate. But I bet Im fitter than thee. I'm only young I can get my fitness up quickly. Hope to do it in 1 hour 35.
I'd be looking more towards the two hour mark. I wouldn't want to give up too many perks for the sake of it lol. I will have a word with a little someone in the next week about training.
RE: What are you aiming to do Conko is trying to get me to do the Sheffield half marathon on the last sunday of April (day after Charlton at home).
Well If you intend to do a half marathon in under 2 hours I reckon you ought to be aiming at running abart 30 miles a week 4 weeks before the race. At least 1 8/10 mile run a week and 2 or three 6 milers should be the target by end of March. took me abart 12 weeks to train from nowt to running that kind of routine for an aif when I was reasonably unfit. Did a pretty flat course in 1hr50....some younger / fitter ones did not finish hat had not trained.
RE: What are you aiming to do I'm not trying to get you to do it!!! . I merelysuggested you do it you lazy git!
you should be drubbing in the mileage, 2 runs a day to get up to the 100 miles per week mark. If you do that, the 13.1 miles will be far too easy and you will be running sub 70 mins no problem. Get your long Sunday run above 2 hours and make sure you do 2 sessions per week of roughly 6 - 8 miles in volume - then you'll be laughing. BIG mileage is the way forward - make sure you have nice gear too (that is worth minimum 15 seconds a mile)
RE: Sub 70 mins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The winner last year got a similar time to that. Don't you have dreams of London 2012?
