Hafthor Bjornsson (Who played The Mountain on Game of Thrones) has just broken the Deadlift world Record at 501KG.

Watched the video of Eddie Hall doing 500kg a few years ago which was incredible but almost killed him. Not literally but he wasn't very good after

Both Sergey Bubka and Yelena Isinbayeva used to break the Pole Vault world record almost every time they jumped when they were at their peak. Both of them had a couple of years doing that, at different times, Sergey is 20 years older then Yelena. They used to jump 1 cm higher than the world record each time. There was no motivation to take it further than that. They got paid a lot of money to break the world record, so they made sure they could keep on doing that regularly: jumping over the world record but well within themselves. They then passed their peak, passed that superhuman phase they were both in, and couldn't break the record anymore. They both still hold the world record, but it's entirely false. I've seen both clear a world record height by over a metre, barely even trying. We never got to see what they could actually do. We never got to see something that would simply take your breath away. I was reminded of those two when I watched this video. He p*ssed it. He could do way more.
