Caught on camera - an apparently deliberate assault by someone on a wholly blameless individual that has led to severe and extreme consequences for the victim. It's making headline news , the LibDems are asking for a criminal enquiry. Whoever did it will no doubt be sacked. His employers will have to fork out compensation. This one will run and run. A full force elbow delivered into the face causing a fractured skull, intensive care and a wrecked career just isn't enough. Death by policeman - that's what you need. Even if it was only a shove.
Even if it was only a shove.........I'll agree with that........and... .....he needed shoveing and he should have had some shoe while he was on the deck He was walking VERY SLOWLY and preventing the police from moving forward in a line during a riot............ But it is said.........he was just walking home from work...............yer right The blame culture srikes again But.........its not nice to here the guy had a heart attack.........but in my view he shouldn't have been there if he didn't want to get involved
I thought that, somebody who thinks that police brutality is fine during a protest. Interesting, bearing in mind all the miners strike stories.
RE: Even if it was only a shove.........I'll agree with that........and... that beggars belief! also you've got to realise that any guy selling papers on the street was probably not the sharpest knife in the box and in allprobability had no idea
He was in a public place passing near the protest he wasn't part of the protest. How is it justifyable that he gets bowled over by the police? i walked past there the following day on my way home from work when there were still 100s of police around - would it have been ok for them to do it to me? It's a main road in the city by the way, it's not some out of the way place that you need to make an effort to get to.
well it did appear he was walking slowly, and being a bit awkward, on the video but you cannot tell if he was being an awkward bugger or not...even so the copper should not have laid into him like he did... If he had gone to him and told him to move on or risk being arrested then that may have been enough to get the fella moving. But the copper seemed to lose it and lash at the guy, that was not on at all. Its debatable too if the fall to the ground was the cause of his death, the fella may have had heart trouble for years, but I guess the stress raised by the knock down would certainly not have helped at all. There was a riot going on, the policeman would very likely been on edge and high on adrenalin, this does not condone the event, but it does need to be looked at from both sides and not with the "lynch mob"attitude that some are taking.
I now know you to be a wind- up how can someone post a rational statement on a Wednesday after a tirade of ga ga abuse on Tuesday night
I Sir, am officially outing you as a wind up merchant
no... no need to thank me !

RE: Even if it was only a shove.........I'll agree with that........and... How patronizing and ignorant of you to suggest that "he was probably not the sharpest knife in the box" just because he sold newspapers......some people! (doh)
RE: Even if it was only a shove.........I'll agree with that........and... Was'nt supposed to be derogatory or patronising just an observation over a lot of years OK in retrospect I could have worded it better soft target might have been a better term
Yer know when we as miners were running through the streets with the police after us............... ........were there ever an occasion when suddenly...........SOOTY pops up selling newspapers ..........12 months on strike and no Sooty........... the video I've seen - he was playing awkward, he got a push, he fell over...........unfortunatly later he had a heart attack...............end of Now, if he had been set apon by the police and they had waded into him with truchons.........then thats different........but it was just a push I've had dozens of um from the police in my time, knocked over fences etc.........nowt said Only difference here is that this guy unfortunatly has had a heart attack
