Clubs: Crystal Palace, Middlesbrough, Cardiff City , Coventry City, Reading, Grimsby Town, Apoel Nicosia Modest, athletic, softly spoken Dean is a local boy whose pacy contribution on Palace's left side during the mid 1990s really caught the nation's attention in 1993/94 as wing-back. Dean also his some spectacular goals and was rewarded, not only with championship medal, but also an England Under 21 call-up. Palace were deprived of Dean's talents for the run-in to 1995/96 by an Achilles tendon injury but this was after he had notched a very rare defender's hat-trick at West Bromwich Albion just before Christmas 1995. He returned to the Palace side in November 1996 when it was clear that the club could again challenge seriously for promotion to the top-flight. Dean was largely an unsung hero in that season's play-off triumph but he played every game after his comeback from injury and discerning fans were aware that he had played a key role. Disappointing as Palace's Premiership campaign of 1997/98 proved to be, it merely confirmed Dean's quality as he missed just one game all season. As such, few Palace fans were surprised when he was snapped up by Middlesbrough to continue his career at the highest level. Source: The Men Who Made Crystal Palace, Rev. Nigel Sands (Tempus, 2004) I hope Ritchie signs him. I can remember watching him a few years back, hes quality.
An exciting, pacy defender who can cross a great ball. Posesses a great shot and is dangerous at set pieces and from the edge of the box. Is a crowd favourite.
RE: "Modest, athletic, softly spoken" Brash, rotund, voice as a rough as a bear's arse Hartog is a local boy...
Don't you? We should sign the entire Arsenal double winning team of the early 70s. They'll not have lost any ability, so we'll piss this league. Is Stanley Matthews still alive? If so we should sign him.
RE: Don't you? I'd prefer the 1999 Manchester United treble winning team, be great to see Schmeichel in a reds top, and Roy Keane(although he missed the CL Final). He's a right lovely person is Keane, great player.
Taking into account Andy Ritchie's record When it comes to signings this year , if he wants to bring Dean Gordon to the club on a permanent basis , I'll back his judgement 100% .
RE: If Ritchie thinks that he'll strengthen the team then I am happy to go with his judgement Well if Gordon is half the player he was, i think we should sign him. Hes very experienced too.
