I know he's not some peoples cup o tea, but I don't understand what he's said wrong here at all. I thought Gorré was brilliant - and i'll be perfectly honest, to this day I still think his performance for Huddersfield against us at Oakwell before he came to us was one of the best footballing displays I have ever seen by any opposing player at Oakwell. I thought he was bloody magic, and when I heard we had signed him I couldn't believe it. Certain people see different qualities in some players. I was one who loved Gorré, top top player IMO.

and when he was with us such was the lack of quality in the rest of the team I always thought he carried us and we certainly looked considerably worse when he didn't play.

ok he wasn't a world-beater but yes he kept up his good standard when it would have been easy to suffer in a poor situation

    (clap)

    Had he stayed fit

I think we would still have been in with a shout of the playoffs that season - trouble was all his career he was injury prone
He was a much better player than should have been playing in the 3rd division thats for sure

I will be happy to clap him on Saturday

Yeah that was definitely a downside to his career. Was easily capable of playing at a higher level, but the injuries probably denied him that opportunity.

One of the most technically gifted players I have seen playing for Barnsley in the 20 years I've been going.

Gorre has been one of my favourite players. He made Nardiello, Betsy and others look good because he was able to play the ball to their strengths.

Aye one of the most gifted players i've seen in a tarn shirt

Also seemed a nice good bloke. Always remember the last game of the season other year away at Stockport when he was injured, the same game Nardiello and missus sat with the fans, and ended up sitting next to me with what looked like his kids. Talked quite a bit during the game

Gets the (Y) (Y) from me

I thought he was class, pure class

But didn't he only play about 30 games for us in over 3 years?

I'd clap him onto the pitch but wouldn't give him any kind of heroes welcome
