Decent left back, always been impressed with him, might take a bit to sign him seen as he is captain at MK Dons, and interestingly, the only survivor in the squad from the Wimbledon days: One problem which some on here may point out, is that he is ginger (i think), but so's bobby hassell: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dean_Lewington
I've been of the opinion that we should have tried to sign him for the last 5 years or so Can't believe he's never been signed by a bigger club to be honest, hes probably the best left back outside of the championship
RE: I've been of the opinion that we should have tried to sign him for the last 5 years or so I agree.
Agreed, would be good signing......... or free agent Michael Ball former Everton/Rangers/Man City see earlier thread http://www.barnsleyfc.org.uk/bbs/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=148678&mid=1002652#M1002652
I bet you've all seen him play twice at the most. If Davey signed a player after seeing him play once or twice, and about 4 years ago, there would be uproar. P.S. Back in them days he was marking Chris Shuker.
Richard Hastings has had some good reports. He is one of Humes mate from Canada squad, currently playing in scots prem http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Hastings
He was involved in a clash of heads on Saturday the game was stopped for around 10 mins. He suffered concussion and had to have 12 stitches in the head wound. Always looked like he could play at a higher level still only 25.
I bet he never saw Christensen once As it wasn't Davey who signed him. As for Thompson, didn't he see him live in training five days in a row and then in a game against the mancs? They scouted Leon for months, they genuinley thought he was going to be a World beater.
Carl Dickinson at Stoke been out on loan to Blackpool and Leeds, tall and aggressive, certainly a better option that anything we've got. Although to be honest, if Davey has been told to give youth a chance, cant see us bringing in young players on loan.
RE: I bet you've all seen him play twice at the most. Yes i have only seen him about 4 times. But the fact that he is captain for one of the best teams in the league below, the fact that he was in the league 1 team of the year last season, and that he was in the league 2 team of the year the year before says alot. Loads of people on here seem to rate him too. And he's still only 25, probably not even reached his peak yet, personally i'd rather have him at left back than Kozluk
Agreed I'm amazed no bigger club has signed him. Everytime i've seen him play he's been class. Then again I think Bolton were linked with him this summer for around £400k, but nothing ever came about it.
RE: I bet you've all seen him play twice at the most. So why hasn't he been 'snapped up' by another club. There must be a reason, if he is so good like.
