Obviously without being at the game, it is difficult to give an opinion on the match itself; but from listening to the commentary, that we were in the game much more than we have been for the last few weeks from the start, and that includes the Fulham game where we took the lead twice. It sounded like a fairly even open 20 or so minutes and Brentford began to edge it up until us scoring.

After that, they were chasing the game. You'd expect them to be on top, hey were at home and a goal down.

But to be fair to us, it sounded as though we were equally as likely to get a 2nd as they were to get an equaliser. After our 2nd they appeared to apply more pressure and forced Davies into a few good saves, again as you'd expect from the home side trailing late on.

Someone who was at the game will correct me I'm sure, but I got them impression from the commentary that we didn't time waste that much. But as I say, it's hard to tell over the Internet. Certainly not to the extent that we're used to (Reading and Southend last season are the ones which spring to mind the most).

I reckon we were good value for our win all in all.

We were worth the win. Definitely the best team 1st half. Second half they came at us more but we looked dangerous on the break. We did waste a bit of time towards the end but we were not taking the pi$$. Amply compensated for by the ref inventing 6 minutes of added time.
Ref was appalling by the way. (Just for a change)

"Addicks" - must be our new nickname! And I always thought it was Charlton's.

    Great journalism (not).

I thought it was a tight game that could have gone either way. We scored first and that was vital.

Are these sports journalists not sports fans because you don't even need to do much research to get this stuff correct, not if you've got a basic knowledge of the industry that pay your wages.

Presume they don't bother checking the basic facts. Makes a change from Burnley I suppose

What makes it worse is that Charlton are a London club. I suppose we both play in red so it's easy to see how they could get confused.

I've been and I thought we were good value for the win. Excellent defensively and always carried a threat going forward. They didn't cause us many problems until the last 15 mins or so. Great win and terrific support from the travelling fans.

We time waste quite a lot but you don't really take it into account when it's in your favour.

Davies was at it when we were 1 up against Fulham
