4 wickets ****. Only 1 of those really counted, Tendulkar, but its not a bad wicket to have. The rest of them decided to emulate lemmings, god only knows what Dhoni was upto, giving catching practise to Monty Burns (who does need it). A drawn series with a much depleted side in India is a decent result, but we need to get the batsmen in for practise on sticking around and scoring runs the boring way, accumulating a big score. When was the last time we scored 500??? The bowlers take care of themselves and will always take wickets, its the batting thats letting us down.

Mr Graveney has just asked me to pass on feedback as he is only a guest.....

and cannot post. He wrote.....

"Cheers Scarfy that was much appreciated and I am sorry I cannot post back but this blasted member only situation on the BBS keeps me from posting. I always love to look out for your observations. Who do you think our spinner should be when we play Sri Lanka in May?"

Nice to hear from the moustached **** flap and I think "good on him" for getting in touch.

Nice of him to pass on comment

Basically, the following needs to be taken from this series.

Bell - Little panda eyes has shot his bolt, and until he learns to leave a ball outside off stump he'll continue getting out cheaply to ordinary bowlers. No test cricket for you this summer laddie.

Pieterson - What they want with him is an incentive to keep him at the crease. If, for every 100 balls he faced, he was promised a go on the wife of a team member of his choice he would score hundred after hundred.

Lower order batters - How many times have we seen them continually try to sweep the likes of kumble and harba ? hoggard in the last innings being the main culprit. You're not good enough to do that.

Udal - ****

Monty - My favourite fat little indian. Bowled badly today but should bowl 200 overs plus this summer in tests.

Graves and Fletch - your team for the summer should be.

Trescothick
Strauss
Vaughan
Shah
Pieterson
Collingwood
Flintoff
Jones
Hoggard
Harmison
Panesar

No Simon Jones?????

I understand your thinking but England like to have a bowler who can bat a bit at 8 (Giles). Your team leaves us unbalanced on the seamer friendly pitches back home. I can't see them leaving out the reverse swing king Jones in any home series or away for that matter unless he is injured.

I agree Bell is out of his depth and Udal isn't the answer to our twin spin attack on the sub continent but today the lad got 4 wickets whether they were terrible shots or not.

My assumption for this summer

Had been that Jones and Giles are both long term injured.

If Giles doesn't play this summer then that could be his lot, particularly if Panesar does ok

You can stick his four wickets up your arse, Udal is still a bag of *****, and if he gets picked in May I'll be the first in line for a dirty protest in the Long Room

I'm agreeing wi ya!

I'm just saying let him have his hour of the limelight because he will never play for Englands test side again. It is like Martin Bicknell who got 4 wickets for England the other year and never played again. It was horses for courses.

My choice would have been Gary Keedy at lancashire before them all. Consistently the highest wicket taking English spinner on the County circuit.

Martin Bicknell is different though

He wasn't an obnoxious ginger twit

But then I still think that Sir David Byas should have played cricket for England, so what do I know

A bit light on bowlers

But then I'd bowl Collingwood a bit more, and Vaughan can tweak them

but think of the runs man

Think outside the box

some kind of clever lookalike could help.

One that's really good at bowling and fielding and that, but looks very similar to one of the batsman. Same hair colour for starters or dyed.

it would be easier

if we were a team of darkies. Then you don't need to mess around too much with hairstyles and the like

but then lunch and tea breaks would be a nightmare - chicken rice and peas everywhere
