Not good from both Morris and the ref. Sky pundit talking about 'winning a penalty' makes my blood boil too.
Bit weird a keeper can bring down a player for a pen and not get sent off yet mads got sent off for bringing someone down on the edge of the area with the keeper still left to beat.
After being fouled by the same forward whilst running into the box… To be fair it’d have been harsh to send Steffen off given it wasn’t even a foul! Not saying I like it but I’ve no criticism of Morris there. He’s just taking advantage of the way the game is reffed and played; like 99% of the rest of the players. I’d prefer if they were all honest - they’re not. We need to get with the program. Morris, Hourihane, others all ‘won’ free kicks and penalties in our past. We are much better at game management under duff, seeing games out. And I see complaints on here about wasting time every game. I just think, if you can’t beat them, join them. Harry Isted ‘running’ to retrieve the ball for goal kicks on Saturday in the second half was hilarious. Think Peter Kay doing his dad run routine. And still folk say Collins wastes time and Isted doesn’t… it’s clearly a tactic of Duff’s to take time out of the game and nullify when we are winning. Wasting time, going down to ‘win’ a decision, claiming a throw or corner you know isn’t yours. It’s all ‘cheating’ if you choose to view it that way.
There was contact and you should still be able to get a penalty from contact without having to go down, but that isn't how refs ref games unfortunately. If he hadn't gone down he probably wouldn't have got it.
I know. Still don’t think Mads should have been sent off either. Penalty on its own was harsh enough.
And Morris had overrun the ball and there were defenders in the vicinity but poor from the ref as it looked like the keeper never touched him on first viewing. The replay just confirmed what I thought I saw first time. Much worse from Morris. There ought to be retrospective bans for such blatant cheating.
No he wouldn’t mostly because but it wasn’t one, the keeper pulled out and Morris went down hoping for a contact which never came
And I still don't know why or how Charlton Morris, got away with battering the Rotherham keeper with his forearm, when they last came to ours.
Saw somewhere that we have a sell on. Would gladly see him get another 5 dodgy pens if getting 25 goals makes a big money transfer possible
It was a penalty. The keeper missed the challenge, tried to pull out but his knee took Morris's ankle. Took slow mo to see it but the ref was right. Our first penalty we have scored this season. Onwards and upwards. What player have you for us next season, even Woodrow has come into form
Sorry Pelly. I wish you all the best but that’s NEVER a pen!! As for picking up our players. Mads Andersen and Luca Connell are terrible. Defo stay well away from them 2…….
