When: October 31st Haloween Night @ 17:30 Where: Sheffield, Devonshire Green March to Sheffield Law Court The route can be found here – Route of the March The Orgreave Truth and Justice Campaign have called this “Death of Justice Rally” to mark the one year Anniversary of Amber Rudd’s shocking decision not to hold any form of inquiry into the infamous “Battle of Orgreave” where 95 miners were “beaten up, fitted up and locked up”. The Orgreave Campaign see it fitting that this decision was made on Halloween as we all know it’s the old monsters and ghosts of the Tory party who where responsible for the injustice then, that denies us justice now, 33 years later. We encourage you to join us on this Halloween night to rally against the evil of the past and present! Fancy dress optional but encouraged! #DeathofJustice
Why not look forwards not backwards and waste 30 years being bitter? Genuine question it just seems a waste of the best years of someone's life.
There speaks someone who wasn't there. If a policeman hit you over the head with a truncheon for nothing I'm sure you'd remember it all your life & feel aggrieved about it.
It’s about justice and fairness. Would you say the same thing to someone who had been abused as a child seeking justice for that?
Correct people should look forward using the lessons of their past to guide them. However i make an exception with Orgreave. It was an establishment set up. Grain trucks. Met. Army. It was designed to break the miners. It did to some. Looking at life for riot. Some will never be broken and keep fighting for what for whats right. These i salute.
They were already charged and found innocent. Bloody facts. coming over here getting in the way of your agenda...
As my old dad would have said and did say during the strike when asked why he was going picketing at 54 year old when he knew he was being made redundant any way, regardless of the strike or no strike..."You are never too old to throw a brick, especially when its at Thatchers private army.who are acting like complete barstewards towards us ....his motto .....The only good conservative is a dead conservative ....he even had mates in the force who like him didnt agree with the tactics of the London Met and co ...after all they were the ones who had to pick up the pieces and rebuild their community policing after the strike My old man was one of the most placid men you could ever wish to meet, a man who would help anyone no matter what colour or creed who asked for help...He had been in the pits under privatization as a lad and had seen a lot. And YES he was at Ogreave that day and to his dying day he said that some of the stuff that went off that day wasnt warranted , by both sides but when you are provoked and attacked and being charged at with horses you retaliate the best you can. a case of us against them ....the young ones of today could learn a lot about camaraderie and communities sticking together not forgetting humility to your fellow man instead of this Me first Me last attitude . We the British public were lied to then and have been ever since ..we all know it was Thatchers war the miners were the only organisation that stood before her and the destruction of this once good country and its communities ...boy have we paid for it since... Least we forget...dont rest until we get the justice for the Miners....take it how you will .....THE MINERS WILL NEVER BE DEFEATED...they just re group and come again....
Your dad was a wise man, and also was there, nothing is as it is shown on TV or reported in papers, we should always remember that lesson.
Read up on it, talk to those that were there, see the fact the BBC changed the order of the films. Then pass comment.
