    Bit of a random request, but does anyone know how you would find recent (last 12 months) death records in Barnsley? Tried searching online but can’t find it. It’s for a specific person we believe has passed.

    Ancestry.com. I know it's used for tracing family tree, but it does have upto date records of births and deaths

    Have you tried the gazette.co.uk

    In a previous job, we regularly had to contact past customers, and if we had an inclination that they'd passed, we'd check the gazette first.

    If you login to https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/Login.asp, you will have to register and sign in, there is no cost. You can search for death records there as well as order copies of death certificates. I am not certain how quickly they update it, but I know it is quite often
