RE: All your speciesist discussions.

    I think it's spelt 'speciesissed'.

Swordfish can feel pain too. I can't believe any self-respecting

animal lover would ever eat such a thing, that would make them a 'fake'! It must be another wind-up.

    RE: All your speciesist discussions.

I think they all came from the aliens hypothesis so we can bypass the whole debate about what constitutes unneccessary animal suffering and get straight to the point of that question. The only honest answer is, "Yes, the aliens would be out of order, but I still want us to continue with what we're doing because I'm selfish about my species." All species are selfish, there's nothing wrong with admitting that but you'd have thought I was trying to get them to confess to the Ripper murders.

Only Kev answered the question, everyone else, most notably IOWT, did everything they could to fog the issue rather than admit to being anything but morally god-like. I never said whether I believe in vivsection or not, I was just looking for an honest answer.

To pre-empt any nit-picking about degrees of suffering I don't eat anything that doesn't live wild and die quickly.

I reckon it would be a great idea to operate cruelty free farms where the animals are slaughtered on site and away from the others. It would be more expensive but every pound sold would displace a pound of meat produced in miserable conditions.

Suffering is suffering regardless of species and climbing onto the BBS political catwalk and bleating about ones own species whilst not giving a toss about others doesn't wash with me.
