A DRAG queen in a street fight in Barnsley town centre has been landed with a hefty bill after being convicted of assault and damage. James Thain, 23, also known as Daffy Dill, was ordered to pay a total of £1,415 in costs and compensation to former rugby player Simon Merry, who is also called Pricilla, following the scrap outside Funny Gals nightclub in Wellington Street. Thain was also given a 12-month community order including 80 hours of unpaid work when he was sentenced at Barnsley Magistrates' Court. An earlier hearing was told a feud developed when Mr Merry sacked Thain's lover Simon Patterson, who likes to be known as Sally Bowls. Thain, of Springstone Avenue, Ossett, had denied the charges, arguing that it was a case of mistaken identity. But he was found guilty by JPs and the case had been adjourned for reports. More Articles
