Point A) we have no money

Point B) we have no money

Besides the above can anyone explain why our disgustingly bad defence is still more leaky than yorkshire water. Hoped after we got rid of foz and hassell wed start improving but thus far its still pub league. Please can we get a bit.of.fcukin.dignity.

Sorry I just can't see why removing two of our best and longstanding defenders would improve the defence? I honestly can't see that we now have any defenders significantly better than either of those two.

It is because we have forced the better players out of the side and retained the poorer players based on nothing more than the fact that they are supposedly 'up and coming'.

Its a bit too early to say how good the defence is,when we've had all 10 outfield players on the pitch we've only conceded 4 goals,(5 if you count a pretty freak own goal at Blackpool)in 4 games...over a season thats automatic promotion form.

It isn't automatic promotion form at all. Even if we pretend that we didn't concede 7 goals with a player missing then we've still played 262 minutes and conceded 5 goals which is a goal every 52.4 minutes. Over the 46 game season that equates to 79 goals conceded.

That is worse than our record last season and only 3 teams conceded more goals than that last season. Add in the other 7 that we DID concede and only Bristol did worse last season.

Only a football fan could say if you ignore the facts we are doing ok. Don't get me wrong not knocking just amusing.

How is it 4 goals in 4 games when we only played 16 minutes on Saturday with 11 men? Does that somehow count as a full game now? Likewise Wigan was only 66 minutes with 11 men, how can that possibly be counted as a full game? Answer: It can't. It is 16 minutes and 66 minutes respectively. 262 minutes and 5 goals, 79 goals in a season. You can pretend that games only last 16 minutes if you want to but personally I'll stick with the fact that they don't.

Also I don't think it's too early at all unless Barnsley football club was only founded 4 games ago, the manager only started 4 games ago, the players only signed 4 games ago etc. Sadly this problem isn't only 4 games old.

Edit (got my sums wrong): That is worse than our record last season and only Bristol conceded more goals than that last season. Add in the other 7 that we DID concede and NOBODY did worse last season.

Edit 2: In the last ten season only 13 teams have conceded more than 79 goals. Only 2 have conceded more than 86.

Don't talk silly you know full well what I mean.....when we've had a full compliment on the opposition have only scored 4..that is a fact.I repeat the point I was making is it's too early to tell whether the defence is good bad or indifferent..Cranie out Nyatanga out..MVoto off..wait till their all back and playing before you write us off as crap.

Yes, when we've had a full compliment we've conceded a goal every 52 minutes. I'm not sure how you are trying to use that as a good thing.

Let's just stick to the real facts rather than fannying around with sums 12 goals in 4 games for whatever reason isn't good enough. We have players to come back so hopefully things will improve.

Of course you said it was a good thing. You stated that our defence with 11 players on the pitch this season is promotion form. If that wasn't saying that the defensive record is a good thing then I honestly don't know what you'd have to say to make it look like a good thing.

Don't make this worse by being even more ridiculous, I made a light hearted comment about promotion form..which it actually is looking at it from that 4 goals 4 games basis...if you can't see the important part, was ,and for the 4th time I'll repeat it so you can't miss it ...................it's too early to tell.
As Jimmy Cricket says leave it till we have a full compliment of first choice players before we know how good or bad we are.
