Next season i hope Simon Davey and his backroom staff and the Board will address our leaky defence. Apart from Daveys loan players ( Nyatanga in particular) we were very poor in that department. How many years have the fans said before each campaign that our defence needs strenthening big time. How many times have the Board and managment took little notice. Paul Reid and Anthony kay are good players on their day, but we need very good players in our defence to compete with the big boys. Wages will be a problem once again to atract the best, i know that , but we must go that bit extra to entice quality to our club other wise we will be struggling again next season. Our full-backs are only average, and i think it could be time over the next 12 months to look for a new keeper. Colgan as been good for BarnsleyFC with his performances, but he to lacks the command of his area, and a lot of goals that we have conceded is because he's been static on his line. A quality mid-fielder, a proven quality striker, get our defence sorted and we may be able to sleep at nights before a game. Davey is no numpty, he will address Barnsleys on -field problems, and bring in the quality, for this club to progress.
